Places to Eat & Drink

Citizen Burger Bar

The perfect spot to grab a burger and a beer on the downtown mall.

Tavola

An intimate, lively neighborhood Italian restaurant located in the charming Belmont district of Charlottesville.

Bodo's Bagels

Cheap, delicious, satisfying bagels. The best breakfast spot in town.

Brazos Tacos

Brazos Tacos is the go-to taco joint for Charlottesville locals in-the-know. The menu will make your mouth water… and want to try every single taco on there.

Michie Tavern

A Virginia Historic Landmark located ½ mile below Jefferson’s Monticello, accommodated travelers with food, drink and lodging more than 200 years ago. Servers in period attire offer bountiful Colonial Midday Fare.

The Flat

This little hole-in-the-wall (literally) may look unassuming, but it serves up authentic, made-to-order French crepes that will immediately transport you to France. And if you’re having trouble deciding between the extensive sweet and savory options, just remember, the Nutella-banana-strawberry combo will never let you down.

The Shebeen

Another favorite. Tucked into an unassuming strip mall, the Shebeen is a South African inspired pub near downtown Charlottesville.

Beer Run

Charlottesville's only craft beer bar, retail bottle shop, and restaurant all in one.

Things to See and Do

Carter Mountain Orchard

Three words: apple cider donuts, but if you do don't fill up too much. These little beauties will be involved in the wedding festivities.

Thomas Jefferson's Monticello

The mountaintop home of Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States and author of the Declaration of Independence.

Charlottesville Historic Downtown Mall

The Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, Virginia is one of the longest pedestrian malls in the United States.

Breweries

Check out Blue Mountain Brewery, Devil's Backbone, and Star Hill.

Childcare

In order to allow all guests, including parents, an evening of relaxation we have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off!

We understand that some of you may be extending this trip into a family vacation and will travel with your kids to Charlottesville as a part of that. We have a highly recommended option for childcare, Local Nanny Network, for infants up to school age children. They provide nannies during the wedding, or any other parts of the weekend you may need childcare, at the hotel. There are even options to group children together, to help split some of the costs.

All of their nannies are CPR certified, background checked and have years of childcare experience. Their profiles are on the website for you to view as well! The nannies will arrive in uniform equipped with books, board games, coloring activities and other toys to engage the children during the event.
