Our story begins during a Santa Monica summer in 2017. Kevin and his favorite roommate, Mike, had plans to attend a friend’s barbeque. Mike had recently adopted a handsome husky mix named Obi and decided to bring him along. This decision would change Kevin’s life forever.
For you see, Sierra would later arrive at that very same barbeque and instantly fall in love…with Obi. An AKC-certified dog lover, Sierra ignored Kevin and Mike in lieu of all the belly rubs and pets Obi could handle. After an exorbitant amount of time, she finally looked up and said, “Oh, hi. I’m Sierra, by the way” before leaving for a concert at the beach. But that was all Kevin needed.
He saw how happy Sierra had made Obi and knew in his heart she would do the same for him (with hopefully as many belly rubs.) A week after the barbeque, Kevin slid into Sierra’s DMs (as millennials often do) and asked her out. She said no. Kevin was devastated and cried himself to sleep. BUT, a week after that, Sierra changed her mind and graciously let Kevin take her out for tacos. And the rest, as Obi says, is history.
