When Kelly and I met, I definitely didn't think I would eventually be writing the story about how we decided to be together forever and ever. Thank goodness I was wrong about that. Kelly and I went to college in Lexington, Ky. He went to Transylvania University (yes it’s a real college) and I attended the University of Kentucky. GO CATS.
My sophomore year, my sister, Taylor, started dating her now husband Parker and he continued to bring around his friend, Kelly. Taylor & Parker tried to set us up all the time, but we were never interested. (Kelly will tell you he was, he wasn’t.) Kelly graduated from vampire school (Transylvania) in 2012 (also the year the CATS won the national championship) and moved to Boston...
About two years later, in April of 2014, Kelly texted me to wish me a happy birthday. Boy am I thankful for that, because we haven’t spent many days without talking since. All of a sudden, my friend wasn’t just my friend anymore.
I visited Boston a few times, we fell in love, and in September of 2015, Kelly shortened the distance and moved back home to Indianapolis.
A year after that, I moved from Lexington to Indy and we said goodbye to long distance for good.
Fast forward to July 4th, 2019... Now we are getting married and I am so thankful he gets to wish me a happy birthday for the rest of my birthdays.
