Random Travel Tips

1. If you arrive at the resort before check-in time, you are able to utilize all the amenities (pool, restaurants, activities, etc.). Pack a small bag with swimwear and other necessities to utilize the resort while you wait for your room.

2. Though this is an all-inclusive resort and gratuities are "included", the average salary for a worker is $8 a day. This means that any tips you may give are very appreciated. You may want to bring $1s and $5s for tipping in USD. Don't feel like you have to tip, but if you would like to, here is a sample of standard daily tips:
Daily maid service, leave $3-5 on your bed
Bell Boy $1-2 a bag
Buffet  $1-2 per person left on table
Sit down Lunch $2-5
Walk up and grab something at the grill $1
Drinks from waiter $1-2 a round OR if you know you will be using them most of the day $5 -$10ish
Drinks from bar $1-2 a round
Dinner $5 per couple

Again this is not required

3. Your transfer driver to and from the airport is not included in the all-inclusive resort...meaning that gratuity is NOT included for them. They work for an outside company. So you should tip around $10 per couple per way. If you are traveling as a group of 8 or more to the resort, a tip of $40 is appropriate.

4. Make sure you have a change of clothes, your medications, swimsuit and cover up in your carry on so you have some necessities just in case your bag is delayed or lost.

5. Pack more sunscreen than you think you need, it is expensive at the resort (like $40 expensive) Pack more than you need.

6. Take your own Yeti type cup to get filled and keep your drinks cold.
