Currency: American dollars are accepted at the resort and throughout the island. However, it is somewhat cheaper to use Jamaican dollars. Purchasing some Jamaican dollars prior to travel is recommended. Most things are included on the resort so keep this in mind when exchanging money. Dining: The busiest time for dining is between 7-8:30. The resort has recently started taking reservations for dinner. You can make dinner reservations up to two days in advance for up to ten people. You must be on the property to make reservations. The restaurants will take walk-ins but you will most likely wait for a table. Many of the restaurants are located in the Ziva Village where there is Shaker's Bar and nightly live entertainment that you can enjoy while you wait. Wedding Events' Dress Code: Many of the women may be wondering if you can wear high heels. Yes, you can. All wedding events will be on solid ground. However, the cocktail hour will be held on the ocean gazebo decks where you will walk a few steps through the sand to the decks. Zen Spa: All wedding guests receive a 10% discount on spa services at the Zen Spa. Please let them know you are with the Wilbur/Lowney wedding group. Excursions: There is an onsite tour company, Island Routes, in the Ziva Lobby. Contact them at hyattziva@islandroutes.com for information on the excursions they offer and to book ahead of time.
Weather: The average high during this time of year is 87F and the average low is 77F. Forecasts frequently predict rain, however, they are often passing showers.
Electrical Outlets: Electrical outlets are the same at the resort. There is no need to pack an adaptor.
Cell phone use/calling home: If you are concerned about incurring charges for using your phone while you are away download the app WhatsApp. The app allows free texting and phone calls through the app to other WhatsApp users. Have your loved ones at home download the app as well.
