Love is very unexpected. It comes at you head on, and knocks you off your feet. Our love story is no exception to this rule. We met in high school, a decade ago! We both had very different lives and although none of us admitted it back then, we both secretly had a crush on each another. But life took us on separate paths, and all that came about in high school was a solid friendship. Two years after high school, our paths once again crossed and with it came some romance! But unfortunately, our attitudes and outlook in life did not synchronize, which proceeded with an unspoken goodbye . (“I was young and dumb ”- Jose lol).
True love has a habit of coming back. Seven years later, our love story that was put on pause, continued with the help of a simple Facebook message (“an apology for being young and dumb” - Jose). Thanks to Karen’s forgiving heart, that sincere apology message gave us a shot at true love. From that day going forward, our relationship and love has grown exponentially, perhaps trying to catch up for all the time lost. Now we are synchronized, staring in the same direction, walking on the same path! We feel in our hearts, that God was simply preparing us to be the best version of ourselves for each other, and that every decision made in the past, led to where we are now-and we wouldn’t change a single thing!
We have chosen forever, ready to spend our lives together with our families, friends and God by our side.
I always knew Karen had love for nature - God's great wonders, as she would describe it. She always expressed her admiration and the peace she felt amongst the mountains and the ocean. I loved it just as much as she did, and we knew how much it meant to us. Therefore, I couldn't think of a more beautiful setting than in British Columbia, high up in the mountains-in our amazing country! It was perfect!
