College Sweethearts!
Karan and Serena first met in college at Nova Southeastern University in 2013! (Go Sharks!) Serena first caught Karan's eye in first week of college during freshman orientation. He was too nervous to approach her at first and decided to take the long route to get her attention!
Making Moves!
On a mission, Karan dedicated himself during his free time to become great friends with Serena and eventually mustered up the courage to ask Serena to become his girlfriend a year from freshman orientation! Fortunately, Serena found this friendship worthy of taking it to the next level and the rest is history. Proof that Slow and Steady always wins the race (Go KARAN!)
During next few years they spent a lot of time together extensively—taking college courses together, going through dental school together working to achieve the ultimate goal of becoming dentists!
Karan and Serena were also enjoying their time traveling internationally together with each others family! One of their best memories are trips that they took to Spain and Iceland, where they got to enjoy their hobbies in hiking and being the Foodies they pride themselves to be!
It was finally time in Karan's eyes to make this official! Karan decided to propose to Serena in 2020!
Karan planned this out well by proposing on the weekend of his birthday, which has traditionally for the past 6 years consisted of going to brunch and spending the day on the water! With no expectations of being proposed to, Serena simply thought plans for the day were just brunch, little did she know!
Karan had his photographers act as concierge agents for the restaurant that provided a free ride on a boat for having messed up Karan's birthday brunch reservation. Karan had a beautiful Yatch ready for the big day and had the captain coast along the coast of Miami. They anchored down in a scenic area with the skyline of Miami in the background ready for Karan to propose! Everything was perfect and needless to say, Serena said yes (We definitely sailed into the sunset that day!)
Now that it was Official, there was only one last thing to do: Celebrate with the family! Karan and Serena had a beautiful engagement ceremony along the river in Karan's hometown, Melbourne FL. From the plethora of food, cheers, and amazing speeches (and can't forget our dad's serenading us with their amazing karaoke skills) it was a true night to remember.
