Itinerary

AMSTERDAM

The weekend before the wedding, we will be having our joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Amsterdam.  The plan is to arrive around Friday, March 22nd (departing the US on Thursday, March 21st) and head to Italy first thing on Monday, March 25th.  This trip is totally optional in addition to the wedding - we will have an itinerary for the 3 days here, but feel free to come and go as you please throughout this weekend if you choose to join.  **More details to come as this gets planned.  If you are interested, please text Kali/Alexa so they can keep you up-to-date on all travel and itinerary plans.**

Please note - we highly recommend that guests arrive in Italy by Monday, March 25th.  You want to account for travel delays + not be rushed with wedding activities by the time you arrive.  Our Welcome Dinner begins on Wednesday, March 27th.

Bienvenuti!

We warmly invite all guests to our Welcome Dinner.  This is in lieu of a rehearsal dinner, we prefer to celebrate with all guests the night before the wedding.  This will be a seated, four-course dinner served with local wines. The restaurant is located in the city center of Florence, which will give all guests an opportunity to experience the city and walk around. I would recommend showing up early so you can walk the streets + breath it all in.  The restaurant is located 2 blocks from the Duomo.

Please note, if your hotel is near the wedding venue, Ristorante Boccanegra is about a 25min taxi ride away.  However, if you are staying in the city, it is most likely walking distance.  Please pre-plan accordingly.

Dress Code: Cocktail Attire

Ceremony Start Time

Please note, the ceremony begins at 430pm on the Terrace at Lilliano.  Please give yourself enough time to get around town + locate the venue.

Dress Code

Formal Attire

Dress attire is formal.  Ladies, please be sure to bring a coat because the Ceremony and Cocktail Hour (Apperitivo) will be held outside (weather permitting).  Temperature this time of year can vary greatly!

Transportation

Getting to the Wedding

Both the ceremony and the reception will be held at the same location.  And because about half of our guests will be staying on site (I cover this in greater detail under the Travel section and Accommodation sub section) and the rest are scattered around the city, transportation will not be provided.  We would recommend calling the front desk of your hotel to call you a taxi.  Keep in mind, Lilliano is about 20-25 mins from city center of Firenze - remember this when planning your day!  If you are staying somewhere around the venue (within Grassina) you are less then 10 mins from the venue.

WEDDING FAQ

Wedding Day FAQ (additional Travel FAQ under the Travel section)

Q: When is your RSVP deadline?

A: Wedding invitations will be sent around the end of August.  Please respond by October 1, 2023 so that we can have an accurate headcount.

Q: Can I bring a date?

A: If your invitation does not indicate an additional guest, you have not been allotted one.

Q: What will the weather be like?

A: Florence at the end of March is very similar to NYC weather at the same time of year - it really could go either way. It will most likely be chilly with temperatures dropping at night - mid 60's during the day, to mid 40's at night. For packing purposes, I would definitely recommend a heavy coat because there is a lot of walking outside. For the reception, ladies, I would wear a long dress with long coat over top.

Q: Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

A: The pre-ceremony will be located outside in the Villa's garden and the ceremony will be held outside on the Medici Terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside. The Apperitivo/Cocktail Hour will also be outside, located at the Medici Garden. Finally, the reception will take place inside at the Limonaia Banquet Hall. Guests will be able to warm up inside once it starts getting chilly out.

Q: How will the food and drink be served?

A: After the short ceremony there will be an Aperitivo/Cocktail Hour. Here, you can graze on regional cuisine like bread, cheese, meats, and passed hors d'oeuvres. Afterwards, there will be a coursed plated dinner, cake and pastries. An open bar will be available throughout the wedding and local Malenchini wines will be served for dinner. And to keep within the Italian traditions, there will be an Espresso and Amaro bar with dessert. Late night snacks will also be served.

Q: Will special diet options be available for dinner?

A: Yes - please let Kali know your dietary requirements as soon as possible.  Dairy free and vegetarian options will be available.
