We met as most people do these days: online. We matched on the Jewish dating app, JSwipe, and met on a Friday night in November 2018. The plan was to go to the cocktail lounge at Carrie Nation in Beacon Hill, but it was closed to a private event, so we squished in at the front bar.
We both knew we had met someone special and it was not long until we were officially dating!
We became homeowners in September 2020 when we bought a condo in the Navy Yard in Charlestown, MA. We love that it is a 20 minute walk to the city and on the Boston Harbor. Our dog, Scarlett, loves the nearby park.
This was not always the plan. Julie was going to buy a new build condo in East Boston, but after many delays we decided it was the perfect time to buy a condo together. Julie pulled out of the Eastie condo and we began our search.
Fun fact: Kevin, the Best Man, was actually with us when we toured our now home.
We became dog parents in September 2020 when we met Scarlett, our sweet and spunky Goldendoodle. Scarlett brings us so much happiness and we cannot imagine our lives without her.
6/30/2021- Kenny called Julie to tell her he set up a doggy playdate at a nearby park. Julie arrived home and noticed Kenny was dressed rather nicely for a dog playdate. Julie changed into a t-shirt, but Kenny suggested she put on something a little nicer- she should have known then!
On the way to the park Kenny said, "let's walk around the harbor to kill some time since we are early." Julie agreed and as they passed the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned ship in the United States Navy, Kenny got down on one knee and asked Julie to marry him! Professional photographers captured the incredible moment and after calling friends and family, Julie and Kenny enjoyed a steak dinner to celebrate.
