Cities and Villages
Below you can find a list of the nicest cities and villages to visit on the island.
Moya
Julia's hometown is a hidden gem and definitely worth a visit. A quiet little mountain town with tiny bars and restaurants that is the gateway to the protected Natural Park of Los Tilos and the center of the island.
Teror
Teror is located deep in the center of the island and is the mayor source of drinking water for the entire island.
Artenara
The highest situated town of the island with stunning views and a lot of cave houses.
Tejeda y Cruz de Tejeda
Tejeda is the second smallest town on the Island, home of Cruz de Tejeda, popular sight-seeing attraction and the geographic center of the island.
Puerto de Mogán
A beautiful fishing village also known as Little Venice with a nice beach.
Puerto de Agaete
Also known as Puerto de Las Nieves, ideally to start or end your hike.
Galdar
One of the first towns on the island with colonial architecture and where you can find original caves in which the island aboriginals lived.
Maspalomas and Playa Del Ingles
Get a dessert feeling in the outstretched dunes around the city and next to one of the most popular beaches of the island.
Hiking
Below an overview of the best areas for hiking.
Tejeda and El Roque Nublo
Tejeda is the heart of the island and a haven for hikers! You cannot miss El Roque Nublo!
Other places worth hiking to are Pico de Las Nieves, Cuevas Caidas, Llanos de la Pez, Ventana del Nublo, Presa de las Niñas and Reserva Natural de Inagua.
Agaete
Several hiking trails depart and end in the Agaete region and offer nice viewpoints over Tenerife. A couple of places worth visiting include El Charco Azul and El Parque Natural de Tamadaba.
Agüimes
From this area in the east of the island, a lot of beautiful hikes run towards the center. Places to visit include Barranco de Guayadeque and Montaña de Las Tierras

For those of you who get seasick, you can fly to other islands via the local Binter Canarias and Canaryfly airlines. Prices start at €50 for a single flight.
