Dress code for the wedding and ceremony is Formal. Kilts, hats, and fascinators are welcome!
For those with questions on guidelines for formal attire occasions, please find descriptions found on The Knot website below:
"Formal attire" suggests something slightly less formal than black tie. This means that a tuxedo isn't required, but the event is still formal enough for one to be appropriate.
He should wear: A tuxedo, formal dark suit and tie, or kilt.
She should wear: A long evening dress, dressy suit or formal cocktail-length dress. Fascinators and or Hats are acceptable to wear.
We have some of the most stylish and fashionable friends and family around so we aren't worried that you will disappoint. Feel free to put a spin on this and bring your own style!
Kilts 4 All - Kilt Hire
For those gents who are interested in hiring (renting) or purchasing a kilt to wear to the wedding...or just wear around the house, we do have a preferred company who is providing the kilts for the wedding party that you are free to use. The company name is "Kilts 4 All" and they are located in London, a 6 minute walk from the Kings Cross tube station.
Their address is: 26 Harrison St, Kings Cross, London WC1H 8JW, UK
To order a kilt for hire from them, please visit their website at www.kilts4all.com and visit the "Kilts to buy or hire" tab on the top right corner of the page to view and select from the many available tartan and jacket kilt options. Once you have made your selection, please email them directly at info@kilts4all.com to let them know that you would like to hire the kilt that you have chosen. Please also be sure to let them know that it is for the "Stuart Robertson & Jonathan Gales wedding on 06 April 2019" so they can make sure to have it available for you.
They will then send you a form to request your measurements. Once the form is returned and any deposits paid, you will be able to pick the kilt up at their direct location near Kings Cross. We have arranged for any kilts that need to be returned to them after the wedding day to be picked up by them from the Andaz Hotel the day after the wedding. Please let us know if you hire a kilt that needs to be returned to them after the wedding and we will be sure to include the hire kilt with the other returns.
Additionally, London has a plethora of other kilt hire companies available, so if you find a company near you or at any other place in the area that you prefer, please feel free to use them. Also, do not at all feel obligated to wear a kilt, there will be many of us in classic suits! :)
Let us know if you have any questions about this process.
Lizzie's Hats - Fascinator and Hat Hire
Similar to kilts, fascinators and hats have a very deep roots British history and culture. Guests are welcome to wear fascinators or hats to the wedding. There is no obligation to wear one and the below information is only if you would like to wear a hat or fascinator.
Although we do not have a relationship with a fascinator/hat merchant, we have heard great things about Lizzie's Hats in Berkshire. Lizzie's Hat's offers competitive prices for some true work of art hat and fascinator rentals.
Because they are located in Berkshire and not in London, it can be a bit of hassle to pick your hat up, therefore, they are willing to overnight hat rentals to the London area with overnight guaranteed shipping.
To find the fascinator or hat for you please go to www.lizzieshats.co.uk to shop. Once on the site you can find collections available for hire and purchase under the "collections" tab at the top of the page. Once you have found the fascinator or hat for you, please reach out to Lizzie's Hats directly by sending an email to lizzie@lizzieshats.com and inform them of the reference number of your hat choice. They will then work with you on fulfilling the requests. Please contact them directly for any questions.
Please note that there is no obligation to wear a fascinator or hat to wedding, this information is only for those who would like to wear one. Also, there are plenty of hat and fascinator shops offering a variety of options throughout the city of London so feel free to use any shop you wish IF you would like to wear a hat or facinator to the wedding.
