His Story
I met Jada through her brother Seth in a service group that met every Wednesday. Eventually, she started showing up more and more. Initially, I wasn't looking for a relationship, so I would take precautions to make sure we didn't speak alone. Though, we ended up talking one day about simple things, things that no one else would understand, and that's when I felt that there may be a spark there. The next day, I had to find out if she had any interests in anyone else, so after some "playful banter", she told me that I was the one she liked.
Her Story

My youngest brother had been invited to join a weekly service group and would always tell me about these new friends he’d made and how great they were. I remember one day my mom said “Just pop your head in and introduce yourself real quick. Who knows, you might find your future husband in that group.” Well after a few months of working up the nerve and urging from my mom and brother, guess who I just happened to meet?

I remember the day before everything happened we had randomly started talking and a few hours later we were still going. After that, it just clicked that this was someone that I would be happy to have in my life and wanted to know better. So the next day after some "playful banter" and a pep talk from my brother, I took the plunge and told him how I felt and I am so glad he felt the same.

Who would have thought that in the midst of a pandemic I'd be able to find the person that would change my life for the better?

First Date

After we expressed our feelings, we decided to take some time to get to know each other as friends before starting a relationship. After a few weeks of talking and spending time together, Jonah hatched a master plan to make things official. At Jim Barnett park, after a mini picnic beneath the shade of a tree, he sent a meme to ask me out. At first I didn't get it, but before I could say anything, he got a big grin on his face and sent it again. After that, everything clicked and he said a simple, "You wanna go out?"
