It all started when Jock slid in Charnice's DMs! HA, but for real, we were both in the Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) MBA Prep program at the time and Jock planned to visit Dartmouth’s Diversity Day for interested applicants. Jock heard that Charnice planned to drive up and thought she’d be nice company for the trip from Boston, so he sent her a Direct Message. Unfortunately, Jock's flight to Boston was ultimately cancelled and he never made the trip... but he got the digits!
Months later Jock heard Charnice got into Wharton and he made sure to give her his pitch of why she should attend the school. He likes to think he had something to do with her decision.
During school, we saw each other often but because the business school community was so small, we both were fine with taking things slow. Plus, Jock was set on moving home to Dallas immediately after school and Charnice wasn’t. That was a nonstarter.
All of that changed when we went on an Group Trek to Israel. We somehow became seatmates on the bus and spent nearly the entire trip getting to know details about our pasts and our desired futures. So we made it official while in the Holy Land.
We dated over the summer, while both having demanding internships. Trips from Boston to New York were tiring (and still are) but we sought to be with each other as much as possible.
For our entire second year at Wharton, the courtship was strong and our future was being laid. We were fortunate to travel the world and grow stronger with each new experience.
Since those days in Israel, we have been inseparable and we thank God everyday for each other and for the people around us. We appreciate everyone that can be there for our day. For those that can’t, we love you too.

Ever since Jock signed those papers to work in freezing Boston vs sunny Dallas, he knew that he wanted to marry Charnice. So he began plotting the proposal with Charnice's best friend, Monia, and her family. He set the date for New Year's Eve 2018, so that that they could start the new year in the next chapter of their lives. So as the clock struck midnight on New Year's eve, Jock got down on one knee and proposed.
