Flying into Nairobi

We recommend flying into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, Kenya

Visas

E-visas (only valid for 3 months) can be applied for on arrival for US and UK passports
For others apply at the link below

This is an easy process and usually takes around 3-5 days to be issued, but we recommend applying at least 1 month before departure.

To apply, you will need:
- Confirmed flight bookings
- Wedding invitation (attach a copy of the itinerary from this website)
- Your hotel reservations in Kenya
Note: You must hold a printed copy of the e-visa to be stamped on arrival.

Vaccinations

To enter Kenya, you must have a certificate to prove you’ve had a yellow fever vaccination if you’re traveling from a country listed as a transmission risk.

For full details about medical entry requirements and recommended vaccinations, please visit the link below

Currency & Local Sim cards

You can change the currency to Kenyan Shillings (KES) at your hotel lobby, airport, or any nearby foreign exchange. It is recommended to exchange any foreign currency prior to arriving in Kenya. Alternatively, you can exchange money at the Airport or your Hotel, however, these locations will have the highest transaction fees.

All major credit cards are accepted throughout Kenya. However when buying goods from markets and road side stalls, cash will be needed.
Local SIM cards are available and easy to purchase.
SAFARICOM is recommended with MPESA (mobile money) services. The international dialling code for Kenya is +254. Please carry your passport to buy & register a SIM card.
