Chef David Bush maintains a dynamic menu that is constantly evolving so expect a few surprises during your experience at OSO.
Eldorado Kitchen (EDK is what the "locals" call it): El Dorado Kitchen serves contemporary California cuisine in an atmosphere that embodies a sophisticated, yet relaxed, wine country spirit. Helmed by Executive Chef Armando Navarro, who has trained under some of the best chefs in the country including Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Richard Reddington, El Dorado Kitchen’s award-winning menu highlights Sonoma ingredients that change with the seasons. The restaurant also offers a robust wine list, heavily tilted toward local Sonoma and Napa wineries, alongside signature cocktails crafted using only the finest spirits and fresh juice infusions. They do have a secret menu for cocktails and the Peach Jalapeno Martini is to die for!
Tasting Rooms around the Plaza
If you don't have time to do a formal tasting at a winery there are some great tastings rooms in and around the plaza! Here are a few of our favorites! Please note you do need reservations for some.
Pangloss Cellars: Pangloss Cellars is a celebration of Sonoma and the diversity of grape varieties for which Sonoma is known. Their tasting room located right on the plaza is spectacular. The decor is fabulous and might we recommend doing one of their wine and food pairings on a comfy sofa!
Three Sticks Winery: You can find Three Sticks in downtown Sonoma. Their historic Vallejo-Casteñada Adobe is complete and Ken Fulk’s final touches make this jewel box simply unforgettable. They require a reservation for all Adobe experiences! This is not to be missed!
SoJourn Cellars: Sojourn Cellars sophisticated tasting salon is located just off the square in downtown Sonoma. Their seated tasting experience allows guest to compare their Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines side-by-side. This is by appointment only.
We highly recommend making appointments for all Wineries in Sonoma. This is high season and a holiday weekend and most wineries don't take walk ins! The below list includes some fun and unique experiences you can enjoy at some of our favorite wineries!
Scribe Winery: Scribe Winery is definitely one of the most popular wineries amongst 20, 30 and 40 somethings in and around the Bay Area! Their newly renovated hacienda is the perfect setting for their amazing food and wine pairing experience. The setting, the wine and the food are just superb and you don't want to miss this one! You'll want to join the wine club and come back for all their fun wine release and pick up parties! Reservations Required.
Gundlach Bundschu (GunBun is what the locals call it) : Climb aboard their 12 person, 6 wheeled Pinzgauer- an Austrian made military vehicle. You will get way off the beaten path on a Sonoma Vineyard tour! The property is 230 acres and you get to explore all it has to offer off road. 1/2 way though the tour you will get out and do a tasting that is paired with cheese and charcuterie! This is a fabulous excursion!
Repris Wines: One of the best kept secrets in Sonoma. Even some of the locals don't know about it and they have been doing their business up on the hill for 125 years! This experience is breathtaking! Located high above the valley floor you can look out and see San Francisco and the Bay Area! You have to request a reservation, but this is another tasting experience you won't want to miss. You might even get to go for a ride through their vineyard on a quad!
