His Story
A few days after jumping onto Dil Mil for the first time, I matched with this hottie. It definitely wasn't the smoothest first few months because we were so far away from each other and Natasha didn't seem that interested in me. But because I had practically turned into the heart-eyed emoji over her, I figured I wasn't going to give up so easily. Deep down, I knew that I just had to convince her to go on ONE date with me. So I did what any rational person would do. I booked a flight, told her I was going to "be in the area", and asked her out on a date. Surprisingly, she said yes right away, and the rest is history!
Her Story
We matched on Dil Mil in May 2019. I had been on the app on and off for the last few years and Jignesh had just gotten the app. We chatted for a week or two and then I ghosted him! I know, I know, how could I? Looking back, I was really overwhelmed with work and studying for the LSAT and thought I couldn't put attention towards a relationship. Time passed and we reconnected that summer. Jignesh told me that he was going to be visiting the area, and thought that was odd considering he lived in Louisiana at the time and I was in Upstate NY. Turns out, he used to work only 1 hour away and was planning a visit back to the area. I found out later that his trip was to see me, but he played it off real cool. No one had ever flown out to see me and I gave him a date to see where it would go.

A Love Story Written In The Stars...
Her Story
On our first date, we first enjoyed dinner in Corning where we talked about our interests and bonded over table-side smores. Jignesh had booked two tickets for a stargazing event for us to attend after dinner. He promised that we could see part of the Milky Way Galaxy from there. Like any rational person, I drove two hours with a stranger I had just met to an "international dark sky" location to see the Milky Way. We parked and Jignesh took out his camera and set up post. We took some tester shots, and all we saw were black skies. I noticed a cluster of stars to my right and suggested we shift the camera, we did and there it was - the Milky Way! We talked that night and listened to our favorite band, Coldplay. From then on the rest was history...
His Story
We enjoyed a nice dinner at The Cellar in Corning, NY and went to Cherry Springs State Park to catch the stars. It was a risky idea for a first date because it involved me taking her to the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night, to an international dark sky zone that was about 2 hours from where she lived. Nothing creepy about that...right? Also, we had no idea what the weather was going to be like, but it couldn't have been more perfect. There was a new moon, and the skies were incredibly clear. We took some awesome photos of the Milky Way, jammed out to our favorite band (Coldplay), and even held hands.

His Story
After buying the engagement ring, I started to brainstorm ideas to propose to Natasha. I called her parents to get their blessing and they were supportive, but they were also very particular about setting the proposal on an auspicious day. I was faced with a dilemma: plan and propose in less than 7 days from my initial conversation with her parents, or wait 2-3 months for the next auspicious date. I decided that I couldn't wait any longer, so I was going to have to risk it and go for it. I called up a good friend of hers and we came up with a plan to lure Natasha to the Corning Museum of Glass. Once she got there, I called her and told her to follow the trail of candles that I had set up for her. Then, in front of all of our immediate family, I got on one knee and asked her to be mine forever!
Her Story
My friend told me she wanted to go out for lunch for her birthday and then to the Corning Museum of Glass. She told me her boss gave her free tickets and she really wanted to go. Being a good friend, I told her I'm down to do whatever she'd like. We had lunch and everything seemed normal. After, we went to the museum where within minutes Jignesh called me and asked me to follow a path of lights he set out. After a few steps, I saw Jignesh standing there with a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting for me. We shared memories, laughed, and cried. Then finally, Jignesh got down on one knee and asked the big question! I obviously said yes! Then, out came our close family and friends to surprise us.
I loved that he planned our proposal in the city where we had our first date. Corning has always been a running theme in our relationship, from the first date to the proposal, to the endless Corningware exchanged between our mothers!
