We met through school at Wayne State University in the chemical engineering program. We actually had classes together for an entire year before we started to talk to one another.
It was a stormy day at school, the kind of day where if you didn't have an umbrella you were soaked in less than a minute. I had come in with an umbrella while Devin was of the soaked variety. I asked him why he didn't bring an umbrella or a raincoat and his response was that he didn't know it was supposed to storm that day and why didn't I inform him? I let him know that I can't inform him of the rain schedule without a number to reach him at. He wrote his number on a piece of paper and handed it to me which I them proceeded to promptly text him that it's raining outside.
Honestly I can't remember any details about the first date other than we went to Dave and Busters. It must have been a great date though!
We were on our week long vacation in Paris when he proposed on the last day of the trip. Already having finished all of the sight seeing we had wanted to do at the major tourist attractions Devin took me to a park where we could take a walk around nature. After walking around for a while we stopped at a secluded area surrounded by nature (No the picture is not where we got engaged. We didn't actually take any pictures of the area. I'm terrible at picture taking.) As soon as Devin got down on one knee I started crying so I can't remember anything of the speech he gave to me. I told him to just give the speech again later but he didn't. All I could think about was that we were finally engaged and I needed to get back to walking around the park so I could collect myself and not be a crying mess.
