We met over two years ago at our company Christmas party, wearing our ugly Christmas jumpers. That night we danced until late and an undeniable connection was created. Since that moment we have been together, sharing two completely different worlds, but at the same time creating our own.
By Jeroen: After almost 1 year together, we thought it was a nice idea to travel to Dani's hometown together, Guayaquil, to meet her family & friends.
It was a great experience for both of us. I felt very welcome as "Gringo"! We celebrated New Year's Eve together with the entire family and burned the traditional Año Viejo together. Also, we made a remarkable trip to one of Ecuador's famous volcanoes, the Cotopaxi.
To me, Guayaquil feels already like a second home!
By Dani: After so many years as an expat, living in different cities, different apartments and with different people, I can say without a doubt that in Jeroen, I have found my home. Sharing a life in Amsterdam together has been an amazing journey.
Love in corona times has made us share so a lot of time together from the start. From breakfast to home office, celebrating our date nights on Fridays with or without restrictions, with curfew or without. All of these circumstances made our relationship strong and it has definitely been a unique experience.
Thanks to Jeroen I am blessed with a life companion and a best friend as well with a beautiful Dutch family.

Jeroen had kept the secret for some time. He bought a ring and took it with him to Ecuador discretely.
Dani did not expect anything to happen, but there was something about that night as it felt special in that cabin in Cuenca - Ecuador. It was the perfect moment to ask the question. Jeroen put on his best suit and told Dani that he had a surprise for her.
He asked: te quieres casar conmigo?
She said: Yes!
It was exhilarating and spontaneous and we both knew right then that no matter how different we were from the outside we shared the same values and we wanted to be together for the rest of our livesAnd we can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day together with you!
We are happy to celebrate our big day with you and we are excited to share our day with all the people we love and create memories that last forever. We know it's not easy for some of you as there is a lot of travel involved, but we just want to say we are very thankful for all your efforts in order to be there with us. THANK YOU!
