HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO TO GET INTO ITALY
U.S. citizens may travel to Italy for any reason, including tourism.
All persons traveling to Italy from any foreign location are required to provide their airline or Italian law enforcement officials with a self-declaration form prior to travel.
Beginning on June 21 and valid until July 30, 2021, travelers from the United States may enter Italy without the need to self-isolate/quarantine upon arrival if they present a document compliant with Italian and EU regulations, certifying ONE of the following conditions:
1. An Anti-COVID 19 vaccination certificate for an European Medicines Agency (EMA)-recognized vaccine. At present, EMA recognizes the following vaccines: Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, and AstraZeneca. The date of the final vaccine dose must be at least 14 days prior to travel. Travelers vaccinated in the United States can prove this via the “white card” bearing the CDC logo.
2. A medical certificate confirming recovery from COVID dated no more than six months before departure.
3. A negative molecular PCR or rapid antibody test

FIRENZE S.M. NOVELLA
Florence’s main train station is Firenze Santa Maria Novella, located in center city.
TrenItalia's high speed train, Alta Velocità (AV) or Frecciarossa, leaves multiple times per hour from Bologna, Rome and Milan.

Milano Centrale to Firenze S.M. Novella: 1 hr 50 min

Flights
The Florence airport (FLR) is called Amerigo Vespucci. Although there are no direct flights, many European cities offer connecting flights to FLR including: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, London Gatwick, Madrid, Milan MXP, Munich, Paris CDG, Rome FCO & Vienna.
American Airlines offers a direct flight from Philadelphia to Bologna's Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ), which is a 35 minute train ride to Florence.
There are many direct flights to Rome & Milan from the US. In Rome's FCO airport- there is a train shuttle directly to Roma Termini (the main train station in Rome) that offers trains to Florence every half hour.

THE BOBOLI GARDENS

Directly behind Pitti Palace is the marvelous Boboli Garden. The park hosts centuries-old oak trees, sculptures, fountains and offers peaceful shelter from the warm Florentine sun in summer. The Medici family established the layout of the gardens, creating the Italian garden style that would become a model for many European royal gardens, including Versailles.
