GeeJam the Wedding Hotel

We are taking over GeeJam hotel for the weekend! All rooms are booked, and events will occur there. If you are looking for somewhere to stay nearby, we recommend All Nations as this is directly across the street and walkable. allnationsguesthouse.com/jamaica/

Flights
Airports

There are two main airports in Jamaica, but we HIGHLY recommend that everyone fly into Kingston Norman Manley Airport as this is where we will provide transportation from. 

We will be providing two airport transports round trip to help those flying into Norman Manley in Kingston get to the hotel. Please note, if you are flying in we highly recommend you take the provided transportation as transport can be 250 USD each way (for 1-3 people, and the price increases after from there). Driving is NOT recommended if you have never been to Jamaica before or driven through their mountains.

 Note: If enough people request transport from here we MAY accommodate, but please don't assume we will have one provided as the chances are low. To our understanding airport currently only operates with American Airlines beginning February 2024, and only on select days. 

Sangster Montego Bay (4 hours drive to Port Antonio)       

Note: For this airport, the estimated taxi is also higher and there will be no group transportation options. Please keep this in mind.

ARRIVAL

Thursday  (April 11, 2024) 

1. 8:05 AM (this should serve the morning Cayman Airways flight from Cayman) 

2. 1:17 pm Shuttle (This should accommodate everyone else, but please reach out to Erica or Jason if it doesn't and we will help you sort out getting your own transport)

Note: if you arrive a bit before the bus. There is an arrival lounge option at Club Kingston. Although you won't need the fastpass through security there are very few places to park yourself in the Kingston airport after you arrive so if you have a long wait, we recommend you consider this. P Note, if you have a Priority pass it may be included so please look into it. And when I was there in November, walk-ins were not welcome.  this. https://www.vipattractions.com/kingston-info 

Departure 

There will be several departure buses, but PLEASE do not schedule any departure flights before 2 pm on Sunday if possible as this will have you leaving GeeJam very early to make your flight. 

Sunday (April 14) 

1. 9am departure from GeeJam for those with flights out of Kingston around 2:15

2. 2:30pm departure from GeeJam for those flying out of Kingston for the Cayman Airways flight or with departure around 7:15

Monday (April 15)

1. 9am departure from GeeJam for those on the 2:17 flight out of Kingston

More information and an official itinerary to be announced at a later date. Please note there will be one day available to enjoy the beach or to do an excursion of your choice if you would like to include this while you budget.

Welcome Gathering

Welcome Gathering

After your travels, take a moment to rest and recharge. We'll gather at the GeeJam bar for drinks, games, and a delightful start to the weekend. Please be mindful to have a meal beforehand, as dinner will not be provided at this event. Alternatively, you can order food and snacks from the bar at your leisure during the gathering.

Excursion or Beach Day

Rafting the Rio Grande

We have a fantastic rafting option that is our main excursion for the group. For this, we will leave from GeeJam at 9:30 am where a bus will take us to the Rio Grande. From here, we will raft down with packed coolers and enjoy the beauty that Jamaica has to offer. Along the way, we will stop for lunch at Belinda's who has been running her restaurant for over 20 years cooking traditional Jamaican cuisine over wood-burning flames. After lunch, we will make our way back to shore and then to the Hotel. We should return around 3:30 pm. Note, this excursion includes transport, the excursion, lunch, and the coolers with refreshments with servers. 


Pricing: $140 USD plus tax per person. Payable through your bill at GeeJam the weekend of.

Attire: Swimwear, coverup, and waterproof phone covers if you have them. We have also found that water shoes don't hurt to wear to most water excursions in Jamaica if you have some. 

Frenchman's Cove

Visit the famous Frenchman's Cove for a relaxing beach day. The entrance fee is JA$2,000.00 for all over 12,  JA$1,200.00 for those 3-12, and free for the youngins. Other fees will include any food or chairs you decide to purchase onsite (entirely optional).  

This option will also be available on Friday morning. If you choose to go on Thursday instead, you will need to cover your cab fare there.

Relax at the resort

Relax and unwind by the amazing Infinity pool at GeeJam, or walk down to the beach to enjoy the water. There are also options to go on a guided Kayaking or paddleboarding tour where you can potentially see the sea turtles

Smart Beach Casual. Think cute Sunday brunch dress or polo or short sleeve button down with pants.. The main event isn't quite here yet, but we still want to prep in style with everyone. 

Please note, that this will be on the beach, so heels might not be the best option.

Food/Drinks

We will provide dinner for everyone and a small bar tab that covers at least one-two drinks per person. Please keep in mind that once this tab has run out, drinks are on you. 

Who can attend

This is an event for everyone who is in town! If Erica and Jason are aware that you will be in town for this event, don't worry you were included in the guest count.

The Ceremony

Dress Code

Formal Attire

Kindly note that the venue includes quite a bit of both stair and grass so women may want to wear sandals, wedges, or thicker heels.  Despite these elements, let's embrace the opportunity to add a touch of sophistication to the occasion in our formal attire.  

Please see the example picture, and per the bride's request avoid wearing white out of respect. Thank you in advance!


Meeting Place

The ceremony will be down by the beach, but please arrive or gather at GeeJam reception/Sanwood Villa to take the bus down to the ceremony. The reception will be up back in the main area, and you don't want to have to walk all of the stairs if you don't need to while dressed up. 

Food

Dinner will be provided at the reception for everyone, but please don't forget to eat lunch before you arrive as dinner will not likely start until at least 6 pm.

Recovery Brunch

It's brunch time! Join us at the GeeJam bar for a delightful recovery session. As we understand some may have travel plans this day, the Bride and Groom will be present to bid you farewell. Let's savor this moment together before you embark on your next adventure.

If you are staying at the GeeJam, this breakfast is included in your stay. If not you can choose to order something or just stop to say farewell.
