Jason and Jan went to med school together at Ohio State. They initially met as med students on a trip to Chicago...or at least that's what she would say...he's a little fuzzy on the details!
Fortuitously, they both matched at the same institution for internship. This time they seized the opportunity to get to know each other! They became close friends as they bonded over the ups and downs of intern year.
Their connection deepened as they started their respective residencies in Ophthalmology at WashU in St. Louis and Interventional Radiology at UPMC in Pittsburgh. Spending quality time together during quick weekend trips made the challenges of a long distance relationship seem trivial. They quickly realized that they were meant to be!
Jason proposed to Jan during a special visit to St. Louis! They celebrated with friends in the Missouri Botanical Gardens afterwards.
