Visit Mykonos Town, a maze of little alleyways lined with boutiques, jewelers, souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and art galleries! The quarter of Little Venice, the Windmills and the church of Paraportiani are the main touristic sites to visit on your stroll around Mykonos Town.
Mykonos beaches
Ornos Beach: A perfect family sandy beach, with lots of umbrellas and sunbeds available for rent. In addition, many cafes, tavernas and restaurants surround the beach.
Psarou Beach: Famous for attracting celebrities from all over the world, Psarou beach is the place to see and to be seen. Nammos, Psarou’s beach restaurant features pricey beach services and is one of the island’s most glamorous social scenes. Booking sunbeds in advance is essential during peak season.
Platis Gialos Beach: About 4 km from Mykonos town, a very popular beach on the south side. It is also one of the longest on Mykonos. It is a very family friendly beach, but nowadays it’s becoming more cosmopolitan with many great restaurants.
Paraga Beach: One of the most popular beaches in Mykonos for the younger crowds. The landmark of Paraga beach is a huge rock in the water a few meters from the sand. It is the ultimate setting for a cocktail, a delightful meal or a vibrant party.
Agios Sostis beach: Located in the northern part of the island, Agios sostis is named after a nearby church. The beach is unspoiled and quiet making it the best known unorganised beach in Mykonos; a characteristic that creates to visitors a feeling of total freedom. The beach stretches for about 250 meters and visitors go down a small path to reach the sand.
Mykonos is famously called 'the island of the winds' due to the constant wind that blows. It might get chilly at night so do not forget to bring a light jacket for this trip, it will be useful for your outdoor nights out! During the day, ensure you are prepared in all respect: sunscreen, hats, glasses, etc…

Car Rental:
The most convenient way to rent a car in Mykonos is from the airport where you can pick it up and drop it off. Several reliable companies have their office in Mykonos airport: Avis, Hertz, Sixt and Budget.
It is strongly recommended to book your car online in advance as a limited number of cars is available on the island in August.
Although you will need a car to tour the island and visit the different beaches, be aware that cars are not permitted inside Mykonos Town. During peak season finding a parking space in the outskirts of Mykonos Town is usually a challenge. Always try the huge parking area at the old port for free parking.
Bike or ATV Rental:
We also recommend renting a bike or ATV for easy transportation. They are cheaper to rent across various spot in the island, and you can park them almost anywhere!
Bike and ATV rentals can be found in a couple of rental shops in Ornos at the beach and near the supermarket.
Kounelas Fish Tavern
Hidden in the small alleyways of Mykonos Town under a fig tree, Kounelas has barely changed since the owners started grilling fish outside the entrance in the '60s. This tavern is favored by many visitors for the variety and high quality of fresh fish dishes. Everything is simple and delicious and made in the most traditional manner.

Right under the windmills in Mykonos Town, Sea Satin seems to be floating in the bay of Mykonos and offers the most genuine, Greek-gourmet tavern of the island by serving fresh seafood and traditional dishes.

In Ornos Bay lies a beautiful beach restaurant with a glamour edge and a beach club vibe. Part of the Mykonos Ammos Hotel, Kuzina offers an electic menu where fresh Greek products mix perfectly with Asian flavours. Specialties include a sushi menu of delicious maki rolls and sashimi.

Kiki's Tavern
Located on the remote beach of Agios Sostis, Kiki is the island's alternative and cult tavern for those seeking quality in the simple and traditional Greek food. Kiki's Tavern is famous for its roast chicken and its authentic hospitality. Well worth a visit, if you want to see what the island has in store apart from tasty gourmet restaurants! However, they do not take reservations so you have to wait between 40 - 90 minutes in the line to be seated.
