- There is no bad weather, only bad clothing! Examples of what to pack: Thermal or heat thermal, turtlenecks, fleece shirts, leggings. Water resistant pants/rain pants. Water-resistant or water proof coat. Warm hats. Waterproof hiking boots and spikes. Cabin socks.
- Do not forget to pack your swimsuit for the Blue Lagoon! Also, shower before getting into hot spring.
- Pack chapstick, biofreeze, face lotion, aquaphor to put on cheeks to avoid windburn, tissues, and hand/foot warmers.
- Pack an adapter. Standard voltage is 230V and 50Hz.
- Bring a water bottle. Tap water is extremely safe. You do not need to buy bottled water.
- Do not exchange too much cash. Use your debit and credit cards, it is the preferred payment. Know your pin numbers!
- Buy prepaid gas card, if renting a car. Gas is expensive, gas stations close early and only take debit transactions (not credit). Traffic cameras in full effect. Follow the speed limit laws. You will get fined by country and rental company.
- Tipping is not obligatory but always appreciated.
- Create itinerary based off the optional tours you choose to do. Ours will be posted, if you would like to join us. You can find options in "Tours."
- Popular sites to see: Golden circle, waterfalls, black beaches, glacier lagoon.
- Stay away from the waves at beaches. Rouge waves and strong undercurrents.
- Pack some snacks for drives, tours, and hikes.
- Food is expensive. We have took some initiatives to help spending in this area. Both hotels have breakfast included. When doing an excursion, pack your lunch. Most of them do not include lunches. It is recommended to buy food at the grocery store or eating at gas stations for small meals. Also, lunch is cheaper than dinner at restaurants. When going out to restaurants, meals are predominately lamb and seafood. Check out some of the restaurants under EATERY RECOMMENDATIONS. We added a variety of price point restaurants.
