Things to Do

Take advantage of all that Asheville has to offer while you are here! Below are some ideas of things to do and places to eat. For events hosted by us, please visit the Events tab.

The Biltmore Estate
Visit America's Largest Home, built by George Vanderbilt.  There are endless options to explore, including the house, the gardens, their winery, and any seasonal activities! www.biltmore.com

The River Arts District
Interested in art? Visit the working studios and galleries of hundreds of artists–painting, pottery, jewelry, glass, metal, wood and much more. www.riverartsdistrict.com

The Blue Ridge Parkway
Protected by the National Park Foundation, the Blue Ridge Parkway offers 469 miles of unparalleled views of Appalachia. At the time of our wedding, the leaves will be changing and the views will be even more spectacular! www.nationalparks.org/explore-parks/blue-ridge-parkway

Pisgah National Forest
Looking to camp before or after? Or just want to go on a day hike? The Pisgah National Forest is a land of mile-high peaks, cascading waterfalls, and heavily forested slopes. Click here for information on camping and day-use of the forest. Chimney Rock State Park is also a great option for something outdoors!

And much more!
Asheville is full of other amazing things to do and we can't cover them all. In addition to everything above, there are many breweries (including Sierra Nevada which is MASSIVE) and wineries, trolly tours, so much shopping and more. Check out this website for some other ideas: www.exploreasheville.com.

DINING SPOTS

The Asheville restaurant scene is on fire and definitely worth checking out. Here are some ideas:

Buxton Hall Barbecue
Looking for a good lunch or dinner spot? Look no further than this Eastern-Carolina style barbecue restaurant with its own bakery. Doesn't hurt that there is a brewery next door. You'll get to taste some of their delicious pies at our reception too! www.buxtonhall.com

White Duck Taco Shop
Looking for something to eat while you are in the River Arts District? They are supposed to have some of the best and imaginative tacos in town. Everything is al la carte and their menu changes frequently. www.whiteducktacoshop.com

City Transportation

If you are not renting a car, there are still plenty of ways to get around town! If you are staying downtown, many things are within walking distance.

Uber & Lyft
Asheville has both of these ride share services and it is probably the most convenient way to get around the city.

Asheville Taxi
If you prefer using the local taxi company, you can give them a call at 828-333-1976. You can get more information at their website: www.avltaxi.com

Asheville Bus Transit
Lastly, if you prefer public transport then Asheville has a transit system (although we cannot attest to how easy it is to use). Here is more information on their website: www.ashevillenc.gov/service/transit-maps-schedules/.
