To LAX
FUN FACT: Los Angeles has an airport!
LESS FUN FACT: It's LAX.
We kid. It's not that bad. And you're gonna get the best variety of flights and most likely the best price. Keep in mind, LAX is on the west side of town you'll still have about a 30-40 minute car ride to get to Downtown by using LA's glamorous highway system.
It's pretty much like that SNL sketch "The Californians" but starring you!
To Burbank
Live from Beautiful Downtown Burbank it's... ANOTHER AIRPORT!
Flying into Burbank is the traveler's dream. A smaller airport that is insanely easy to get in and out of, and because it's on the east side of town, it's also closer to your final destination.
But there is a catch. It's definitely more expensive and because it's so small, there are less flight options.
But, if you can make it work for you, it's a pretty sweet way to travel.
Freehand Hotel
Need a place to hang your hat? And presumably anything else that needs to be hung?
Might we recommend The Freehand Hotel? Set in a storied 1924 building in Downtown, this creatively inspired hotel is pretty dang close to the wedding venue so once you're here you won't have to travel far.
Also this place has got a rooftop pool, fitness center, restaurant, cafe, and a bar within the hotel! Maybe you don't like any of those things, but where we come from we think that's pretty cool.
And we know cool. We've got sunglasses and everything.
ONE LAST VERY IMPORTANT THING: Please book your rooms early in order to get the best room price possible. Because we love you, we, uhm, "procured" this link below (it fell off a truck) so you can get a discounted price. Use the following discount code for a special rate!
Strassler & Goldman
Airbnb
Ok, maybe you hate hotels. Maybe you saw "The Shining" or "Dunston Checks In" and you're like "I don't need any ghost and/or monkey shenanigans! I've got shenanigans aplenty on my own! I'm an adult!"
Well, then there's always AirBnb! You can rent a house of your very own and call no man mister!
But be careful. Los Angeles is a wild town full of odd neighborhoods and plenty of traffic. If you're gonna look for an AirBnb, we recommend checking out the following areas.
COOL HIP AREAS NOT TOO CRAZY FAR AWAY FROM THE VENUE: Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Atwater Village, Highland Park
COOL HIP AREAS KINDA FAR AWAY FROM THE VENUE: West Hollywood, Laurel Canyon, Culver City
COOL HIP AREAS VERY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THE VENUE (we're talking up to an hour and a half away) BUT HEY AT LEAST YOU'RE CLOSE TO THE BEACH: Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu
NICE AREAS THAT ARE GOOD FOR WALKING AROUND OR FOR FAMILIES (roughly 20-35 minutes away from venue): Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, Toluca Lake
Oh! And if the AirBnb has a pool, make sure it's heated. This is March, so it will be too chilly to go in without some of that fire.
Other Hotels
Look, we're not the boss of you. There are other hotels out there! Especially, Downtown by The Staples Center (well, technically it's the Crypto.com Center now but whatever.)
There's also plenty of places in Koreatown too!
You'll be close to the venue, but let us stress, Los Angeles can vary block-to-block so please do your research (or, you know, ask us!)
Glendale and Pasadena have some nice hotels too! Glendale isn't too far from the venue. Pasadena is farther but not the end of the world.
Lyft/Uber
If you're gonna get around Los Angeles, you're gonna need some wheels. If you're not gonna rent a car, then Lyft and Uber will gladly be your huckleberry!
They do pickup at LAX, but you have to take a shuttle to a special parking lot. It's a whole thing so... BE PREPARED!
LAX Shuttle
Yes, the rumors are true. There is a shuttle that can take you out of LAX and bring you to Union Station in Downtown (which will put you close to the venue.)
But be warned, dear reader, we have never taken the LAX Shuttle before. Is it filled with ghosts? Possibly.
Tickets are about $20 round trip though, so that's pretty boss.
