Hien and Chris first met each other in 2017 when Chris was a medical resident and Hien was pre-medical student. Chris asked Hien to be his girlfriend on their 3rd date at Laguna Beach. He would tell you that he knew she was the one the moment he met her!
Hien and Chris quickly got to know and love each others family and friends. They grew in faith and love as a couple. One of their favorite memories was their trip to Vietnam where they traveled all across the country and visited Hien’s hometown. They can’t wait to go back during their honeymoon!
In 2019, Hien started her medical school training in Phoenix while Chris was completing his fellowship training in Los Angeles. Whenever he was not on call on the weekend, he would fly to Phoenix to visit her. Those Southwest miles piled up fast!
On November 21st, 2021, Chris proposed to Hien at Mission San Juan Capistrano in Orange County. Chris was so nervous asking her parents in Vietnamese for permission to propose to their daughter. He was relieved they approved! Hien's sister and closest friends were there to surprise her!
Chris is now working in Riverside County and Hien is completing her clinical rotations in San Diego. Chris would make the drive almost every weekend to visit her in San Diego. They cannot wait to move in together after the wedding!
