FAQs

What is the "elopement"?

While not technically an "elopement" in the traditional sense, we will be hiking to the top of a mountain to say "I do" surrounded by just our parents, siblings, grandparents and bridal party.

Truthfully, the reason for calling it an "elopement" is that the day is being organised by a wonderful group called "the elopement collective" who specialise in organising intimate weddings. Please feel free to check them out!

Why are we doing it this way?

We have always wanted to have a very small wedding in the Australian bush landscape.

This approach of having a simple ceremony held with a few close relatives and friends as witnesses, followed by a large reception/party a couple days or even months later, actually (to our surprise) aligns with Adam's German heritage, and is a common practice throughout Germany - who would've thought?

FAQs

What is the "garden celebration"?

The garden celebration is essentially our wedding reception. We couldn't let our wedding pass without celebrating with our nearest and dearest.  The garden celebration will be our first public appearance as Mr and Mrs Halliday and will feature the cutting of the wedding cake and our first dance as husband and wife.

We cannot wait to see you there!

Will there be food and drink?

Yes and yes!

The event will be catered by an incredible social enterprise called 'Parliament on King', a catering business which employs asylum seekers and refugees who cook beautiful food from their homelands

The food will be served buffet style and everything can be eaten with a fork (either standing or sitting). There will also be nibbles and dessert available.

As for drinks, rest assured that they will be flowing throughout the night.
