Travel
There are two airports that we recommend flying into; Bordeaux or La Rochelle. Both airports are 50 minutes from the venue and surrounding areas.
We would recommend flying into these airports and hiring a car. This gives you the most flexibility and ability to explore the area.
There are flights from Dublin or less frequently from Belfast International. You can get a train from Bordeaux or La Rochelle train station to Jonzac or Cognac station and takes 1hour 10m.
If you'd like to see more of France, you can fly to Paris from Belfast or Dublin and take the train from Paris to Bordeaux. This takes 2 hours with regular trains each day.
If you are not renting a car, you will need to arrange a train or taxi to Jonzac or your accommodation which is just over 1 hour away. (www.thetrainline.com)
We would highly recommend you hire a car to get the most out of your trip. There are many car rental companies within both Bordeaux and La Rochelle airports.
On the night of the wedding, we will be providing shuttle buses to drop guests home (within a 20-minute radius) so you can enjoy all the delicious local wine! Therefore we advise that you group share cars or organise a taxi to the venue.
If you really fancy it, you can also take the train or car via the Eurostar.
Trains depart from London St Pancreas and travel to Bordeaux St Jean station taking around 5-6 hours.
You will then need to arrange a transfer or taxi to La Cannonerie or your accommodation which is just over a 1-hour drive away. (www.thetrainline.com)
If you fancy a road trip, guests can travel from Ireland to France via boat and travel through France. There are various routes available through Irish Ferries, StenaLine and Direct Ferries from Rosslare and Cork to Cherbourg or Roscoff.
Please be aware of highway tolls when driving through France. You can pay the toll charge by cash or card. Some tolls offer a receipt at the first toll which you return and pay at a later toll.

Taxis are hard to come by in this region, please be sure to pre-book where necessary.
Please note: we will be arranging transport home from the venue on The Wedding Day for all guests staying in Jonzac - we recommend staying in Résidence Les Coteaux de Jonzac. If you decide to stay further afield you may need to pre-book a taxi.
