Where to Stay & What to Do
Our suggestions depend on how many days you will be spending on the Cost Blanca. If you will only be staying Saturday and Sunday, we recommend staying in a hotel near the town of Altea. There are several hotels and apartments with a swimming pool in Altea, which are only a few minutes away from both the old town and the wedding venue. Check below the links to Booking.com and AirBnB for options.

If you are staying for more than 2 days, our recommendation would be to stay in Calpe, which is the next coastal town, only 10 minutes away by car. It is a bit cheaper, it has more hotels and villas available and a few sandy beaches to choose from (the beach in Altea is small and stony).
Our top pics for hotels in Calpe are:
Hotel RH Ifach
Hotel Bahia Calpe
AR Diamante Beach Spa Hotel

Take a ferry to Ibiza or Formentera for a few days from Nearby town Dénia. Dénia is a 30 min drive away and the ferry takes just 1 hour. Book here!
Take a trip to Calpe to chill on the beaches and/or climb the famous Penyal D’Ifach.
Climbing the Penyal D'lfach will take about 2.5 hours up and down. There is one rout from the carpark at the bottom, this climb is not suitable for children and we recommend proper footwear : )
To recover afterward we recommend the following beaches in Calpe:
Playa de la Fossa
Playa de Cantal Roig
Visit Altea Old Town. This place is beautiful with its immaculate white houses and cobbled streets. You can climb the old town of Altea from the Costera del Mestre de la Música. Calle Mayor is full of craft stands and restaurants and the Plaza de la Iglesia is the icing on the cake with a fantastic viewpoint.
You can do a number of water sports from the coast of Altea:
Paddleboarding
Waterskiing & jetskiing
Canoeing & Kayaking
Windsurfing & Kitesurfing
Snorkeling
& Boat trips around the coast
Why not rent some Kayaks, explore the sea caves and calas nearby, don't forget your snorkel mask and a picnic : )
Les fonts de l’Algar is another very special spot! It's inland between Altea and Calpe and it is a collection of waterfalls that you can swim in. You can also camp nearby.
Or, why not head to the mountains on a 4x4 tour for some nature, off road driving and spectacular views!
As Altea is quite small we would recommend booking in advance for any restaurant you want to eat at...especially the good ones!
Here are some places to eat and drink in Altea that we recommend.
El Cranc - A chiringuito (beach bar) A really cool spot, right on the beach this place serves brilliant food, especially the seafood, we highly recommend this place for lunch. Check out their Insta too!
La maja - A French/Mediterranean restaurant with a terrace near the beach, really great food, we recommend going for lunch or dinner or even just for a drink.
Casa Vital - Located in Altea Old Town, this place has a huge terrace with spectacular views of the coast. A great choice for dinner, serving traditional Spanish food including tapas.
De Lab, beach lounge Is a great all-rounder! situated on the beachfront you can pop in for a freshly brewed coffee, for an excellent Mediterranian lunch or dinner and then even say for cocktails!
L’Olleta Chininguito is a beach bar among the trees, specialising in tapas, fish and paella with a brilliant selection of wines.
La Claudia in Altea Old Town, again with magnificent views of Altea bay this Mediterranean Spanish fusion restaurant is a great choice for a late dinner and drinks.
