The first time I saw him, we were loading up the fire truck ready for a day out fighting Gosper's Mountain Fire. I remember thinking, Oh, wow, he’s cute. He cut the line for the breakfast BBQ and took the last bacon and egg roll! The day went on and 12hrs later we could finally head back to station and he made up for breakfast by cooking dinner.
We connected on Facebook to exchange photos from the day, and thinking he has a partner and lives in Brisbane will probably never hear from him again.
We spoke a few times over the next few weeks about fire things and then around came Christmas to which I sent him a Merry Christmas message. To which he replied " I revived the present of being single on Christmas Eve so I had to make new plans." to which I informed him that I was moving to Ipswich and we went on our first date to Cirque Du Soleil on opening night!

Well let's be honest, everyone loves a good love story that starts with some light-hearted stalking, and that is exactly what Aimee did. I went down to Sydney to help fight bushfires in my local community, and the next minute I’m back in QLD with a good looking woman staring through my window, bags packed, looking for a home. How could I say no right. No, no, they say you will meet the right person in unexpected circumstances and that’s exactly what happened. In the remote town of Lower MacDonald, helping a good friend's local brigade crew a truck here, I met Aimee. The day was one to remember, a lot of hard work, fun times and now a love story we have to call our own. After Aimee decided to make a move to QLD and an amazing first date, flash forward 2 years, and here we are planning the most amazing overseas wedding.
