Toan and Goldie officially met in Las Vegas through a mutual friend (the best man!) in January of 2012. The funny thing is that Toan and Goldie had actually crossed paths on multiple occasions prior to that at various friends' parties and graduations. In fact, Toan claims he noticed Goldie at a birthday party in 2010 and was already interested in her at that time, he even remembers what she was wearing that night! Unfortunately, she was not available yet.
After their first initial meeting, Toan tried to keep in touch with Goldie via Facebook but Goldie was not responsive to his ongoing messages, she feels bad nowadays of course! Timing was not right for the both of them yet.
Flash forward to New Year's Eve 2012, almost a year after they initially met, and they run into each other AGAIN at a friend's party. Goldie was reminded of the spark and the fun she had with Toan when she first met him and decided to go for it this time! They started dating early 2013 and have been inseparable ever since then! :)
Toan and Goldie are both pharmacists so much of their time together has involved supporting each other through their individual pharmacy careers. They moved to Virginia together in 2014 when Goldie was starting pharmacy school and Toan was a new grad pharmacist just starting his first job. They were alone in a new state, with no friends or family, and only had each other. It was not always easy but they were able to learn a lot about each other during this time and have evolved tremendously both together and individually.
Toan and Goldie have a love for animals and have become pawrents to three fur babies over the years together.

These fur monsters keep them extremely busy and have been the best joys in their lives.
Toan surprised Goldie with a proposal on December 8, 2018. Goldie was back home in Los Angeles to visit family while Toan was supposedly "still in Virginia" working. That morning, Goldie's sister, Peggy, took her out for lunch and shopping to keep her out of the house and to distract her. Little did she know, Toan secretly flew to Los Angeles to meet with Goldie's mom to ask her for permission to marry her daughter.
Peggy brought Goldie back to her house that night where flower pedals, pictures of their moments together, and candles were laid out. Toan was there to propose to Goldie with Peggy's cat, Colonial, and the ring attached to his collar.
