How to get there
If you’re coming by plane, you’ll land at Edinburgh airport. From there, you can get an airport bus to Haymarket station and then get a train to Pitlochry. Or, you can get the 747 bus to Inverkeithing and get a train from there.

The buses are right by the airport terminal, as soon as you leave the building and are easy to find.
There’s a taxi office by Pitlochry station, and the station has a good second-hand book shop as well.
If you’re coming by car from England, Pitlochry is about 40 minutes north of Perth on the A9. Watch out! They have average speed cameras on this road and a lot of roadworks too.
You can rent a car from Edinburgh airport. But if you do that, when you take it back make sure you walk around the car with the guy when he does the inspection. They get a bonus if they find any damage, so there's a temptation to give it a scratch if the customer's not looking. It's not like renting a car in the USA!
