Group Travel Info

In terms of schedule, people will likely be in Crewe on Friday, Saturday and leaving Sunday, so feel free to catch up with family and friends there if your time allows. If you're more ambitious, things aren't formally organized but some of our international guests will be in the UK the week before.  Geoff and I will be in London from the 22nd-25th of May and travelling up to Crewe on the 25th so feel free to reach out if your travel plans converge with us.

Getting to Crewe Hall

If you're coming from within the UK you'll probably be driving, but feel free to consult the train directions if useful. Internationally, the most convenient airport is Manchester but we've included directions from London Heathrow and Gatwick as those flights tend to be more frequent and economical.

From Crewe Train Station

Crewe Hall is a 5-10 minute (2 mile) taxi ride from the train station. There may be taxis waiting out front or you can call one of these taxi companies: Crewe Cabs (+44 127 0667235), Westside Taxis (+44 1270 211222), Abbey Taxis (+44 1270 212125)

Use Link at the bottom for buying train tickets

From London Euston

There are a number of trains from London Euston to Crewe which take 1.5 hours (express) or around 2 hours (west midlands slow service). You can buy tickets at the station or in advance from www.nationalrail.co.uk It might also be worth buying an open return which will allow you to return flexibly within an month on any service and is cheaper than 2 single tickets.

From Gatwick Airport

If you're travelling from Gatwick airport, the whole journey is about 3 hours. You'll want to get a train from Gatwick to London Victoria and change onto the underground service (Victoria Line) to London Euston where you can get a train to Crewe.

From London Heathrow Airport

The journey from Heathrow is similar time wise to Gatwick and will take approximately 3 hours in total. You'll need to get a train from the terminal to London Paddington (either Heathrow Express 15mins or underground 25mins) where you'll change to the underground (Hammersmith & City line) to London Euston. From here you can get a train to Crewe.

From Manchester Airport

Travel is easier from Manchester than London. There are direct trains from Manchester Airport to Crewe that take 40 minutes. If you want to visit Manchester, then take the train from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly (city center). There are numerous trains from Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe that take 30 minutes or an hour if you end up on the slow service.
