Both being Engineers, but working in different realms of engineering; their paths crossed one day in a training class for work. Nicole was sharing M&Ms with another classmate and Gerald decided to ask for some since she appeared to be in a sharing mood. She obliged and, as Gerald puts it, "She has been feeding me ever since!"
Since they met professionally & hung out as friends genuinely; Gerald & Nicole did not pursue one another with the intention of dating. This allowed them to be the truest versions of themselves; completely open, boldly honest, and sincerely transparent. As they would later realize, this was the making of a solid foundation.
After praying and receiving clear confirmation from God, Gerald asked Nicole to be his girlfriend. She happily agreed. Neither of them knew what lay ahead, but they did know that they were willing to receive all that it had to offer.
Gerald thoughtfully planned the details of the surprise engagement without Nicole having the slightest idea. The two took a trip to Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. This was a trip that was previously cancelled prior to them entering into a relationship, so to start a new chapter of their life here had an exceptionally special meaning.
