This is the closest International Airport.  Brisbane is a 2 hour 20 minute (170km) drive from Midginbil Hill.  You will need to hire a car, taxi or Uber will be quite expensive.

This is the closest domestic airport to the venue.  You can hire a car here and it's about 1 hour (60km) scenic drive to Midginbil Hill.  Easy peasy.

There are multiple flights each day from Melbourne or Sydney to OOL (aka Coolangata) airport.

It's about 1 hour drive from Byron Bay (71km), and is quite scenic.

Byron is amazing - if you have time, definitely spend a few days in this beach town.  You might even run into the Hemsworth brothers, as they live here.  

The easiest and fastest way to get there from Sydney would be to fly into Gold Coast (OOL) and hire.  From there, it's about 1 hour drive.  

If you have time, you can take a scenic coastal roadtrip from Sydney.  It's about 8.5 - 9 hours, but there are some nice places to stop along the way (Coffs Harbour, for example).  

Driving from Melbourne would be really far and take quite some time.  Unless you have a long time and really like driving/are afraid to fly, we wouldn't recommend this. 

Instead, book a quick easy flight to Gold Coast (OOL)!  Domestic flights in Australia are pretty affordable and there are multiple flights daily to OOL.  You can hire a car in Gold Coast for the final leg of the trip - an easy, scenic 1 hour drive.
