HOW TO GET THERE

Rome, Milan, Florence or Pisa airports are all a good options. Rome and Milan have several international flights on a daily basis.
If you are landing in Rome and do not plan to rent a car, you can arrive in Castiglioncello via train (most options will require one train change for approx. 4 hours).
If you are landing in Milan and do not plan to rent a car, you can arrive in Castiglioncello via train, either with a stop to Florence (Milan-Florence with high speed train is approx. 1 hour 40 minutes and then other 1 hour 30 minutes to reach Castiglioncello), or in Livorno (this option would take approx. 4 hours plus 30/40 minutes to reach Castiglioncello).
Florence and Pisa are the closest airports, but you will still need to rent a car, take a train or a bus!

TRAIN

You can use "Trenitalia" services. Check out time, fares and other information through the link below and, if you are travelling on a local train ("regionale") always remember to validate the ticket (better to ask officers before getting on a train if you have any doubt!): www.trenitalia.com/en.html

Main cities are connected via high speed trains (frecciarossa). Milan to Rome takes 3 hours, Milan (or Rome) to Florence takes less than 2 hours. And Milan to Naples is just about 5 hours! For high speed train options, also check "Italo": www.italotreno.it/en

FLIGHTS

We also have good internal flight options. You can check times and rates for our national airline (Alitalia) via this link www.alitalia.com/en_gb/

We also have low cost flights connecting both Italian and European cities, check out RyanAir (www.ryanair.com/gb/en), Easyjet (www.easyjet.com/en) and Vueling (www.vueling.com/en/)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Taxis from/to the airports and car rental

Please note that Uber does not generally work in Italy. Major airports are connected to the relevant city centres through bus (e.g. Terravision) and/or train (check directly at the Terminal to buy tickets). If you plan to take taxi from the airport please remember to take authorized cabs only (the white ones bearing a TAXI sign on top). From Rome/Milan airports to the relevant city centres and viceversa pre-fixed fares are applied (e.g. Euro 95 for Malpensa-Milan centre and Euro 50 for Fiumicimo-Rome centre). Most of the taxi drivers should accept credit cards but always double check before getting in the car!

If you plan to rent a car you can check and compare prices between major car rental companies using the following website: www.rentalcars.com

For any other requests, curiosity and information just give a call to Federica or Andrea!

HOTELS

Accommodations

It is possible to book hotels in Castiglioncello directly on booking.com (or any other major travel website). We know that Tuscany will be a particularly hot destination for this summer in Italy so we'd suggest to look for accommodations and book in advance.

Our ceremony and reception will be in Castiglioncello, but you can also look for hotels/B&B/houses nearby: Livorno, Quercianella, Cecina, Vada.
