How They Met

"Do you know how to use a Go Pro?"

Only the Lord could have known what would come after that question was asked.

And no, it wasn't asked by Ashley.

If you know anything about Jake, you know he's widely recognized as the "Go Pro Guy" due to his black Go Pro shirts he would wear on the sidelines at Auburn football games to take photos. Couple that shirt with his signature white bandana, the first-ever (homemade) selfie-stick strutting the most current Go Pro at that time, and his huge white lens connected to a camera, and that's the image you'd see every Saturday in Jordan Hare.

A-Day 2015 was like any other game for Jake – wearing his Go Pro attire, Go Pro tossed over his back, and carrying a camera when a random girl walks up and asks, "Do you know how to use a Go Pro?" She was hitting on him no doubt as it was completely obvious he did, in fact, know how to use a Go Pro.

Meanwhile, Ashley was sitting across the table from Jake when this happened. You see, they were backstage for the Kesha concert and Ashley was getting ready to twirl at the pep rally opening for Kesha. So she was replenishing the necessary food and water to make it through the rest of the day and chatting with her fellow majorette. She wasn't really paying much attention to the guy sitting in front of her. Until... "Do you know how to use a Go Pro?"

Immediately Jake and Ashley made eye contact and burst out laughing. He claims once he heard her laugh, he was sold. However, it later came out that Jake had scouted out the perfect place to sit by "that Ashley girl" in hopes of getting to know her. "That Ashley girl" is who he would wind up marrying one day. After the pep rally, Ashley went off to find her friends and Jake left with his. While walking back to his car, Jake and his friends made it to the Cam Newton statue and he said, "By the end of summer I will be dating that girl."

June 25, 2015, Jake asked Ashley to be his girlfriend in front of the Cam Newton statue.

It's been the most amazing adventure ever since.

They never thought they'd be where they are today, but by the Good Lord's grace, love, and mercy they are so excited to enter this beautiful convenant together. Thank each and every one of you for your love and support during this incredible time in our lives!!
