Things to Do
We recommend grabbing something to eat at Home Slice Pizza, Hopdoddy, Jo's Coffee, Amy's Ice Cream, South Congress cafe, or Big Top Candy. Check out the shopping at Allen's Boots, Lucy in Disguise, or some of their vintage shops, and take a picture with the famous "I love you so much" sign!
Tons of bars here! Some of our favorites are Parlor Room, Lucille, Container Bar, or Icenhauer's.
If you haven't been to 6th street before, it's a must see (at least for a little bit). Some of our college fav's were Maggie Mae's, Shakespeare's, Buckshot, Pecker Heads, and Blind Pig. Venture down to west 6th for Parlor & Yard, Star Bar, or Dogwood.
Hike Mount Bonnell for one of the best views of Austin or check out the 360 bridge for another famous view of the city!
If the weather permits, hang out at Zilker park or rent a canoe or paddleboard on Lady Bird Lake. The rowing dock, located just west of the Mopac highway, rents canoes, kayaks and paddleboards by the hour.
