They met in June 2018 and sparks flew right away!
Hein and Edi were introduced by mutual friends at a braai and spent the night chatting away. Shortly after, Hein asked Edith on a date and the two of them were the last table at the restaurant as they didn't want their time together to come to an end.
Hein knew Edith was the woman for him as they both share a mutual love for steak, wine and long chats!
Edith packed her bags and moved in with Hein as the travelling between Pretoria and Johannesburg became unbearable (especially the traffic on the N1). Needless to say, Edith's parents never saw her as she was always at Hein's place. Rumour has it, Hein doesn't like sleeping alone, so Edith had to move in to keep him safe at night.
Before Edith and Hein jetted off to Zanzibar, Hein wanted to ask Edith's family permission to propose. Edith's dad, Billy, however had other plans. He cancelled their golf game so Hein had to wait until after Zanzibar to pop the question.
Hein had asked Edith's family for permission to marry her in December 2018 but made her wait until they were in lockdown so she couldn't run away from him after he popped the question.
He asked. She (of course!) said YES!
