The Deer Path Inn

The Deer Path Inn is a luxury inn 1 mile from the main hub of the wedding.  It is in Lake Forest town and in walking distance to shops, coffee and bakeries.  Due to a limited number of guest rooms, it does not offer group discounts.


** UPDATE 06/06/2019 the hotel is sold out for our dates!  They can place you on a waitlist if you wish and reserve the room once an opening comes up.

Charming little house in Highland Park. In-law suite is in the basement and has it's own full size kitchen and bathroom. I live up-stairs with my 2 little dogs so I will be available if you need anything during your stay. There is NO separate entrance- we share one. The listing is for the in-law suite that is set up like a studio and has one queen bed and a small futon bed in a separate room. Please note- the suite is in the basement. You have shared use of the deck and the yard. (This is closest to Church) ... ~$80 per night

Airbnb - Lake Bluff

About 2 miles from Lake Forest, Rivendell is a historic home with a renovated apartment on the second floor. The 1,200 sq foot area has a separate entrance and perfect in town location. Queen bed and a single sleeps three. ~$55 per night

Airbnb - East Lake Forest Cottage

Longmeadow cottage has unique charm with modern conveniences. It's modeled after an English Arts & Crafts home and has been meticulously maintained and well kept. Full kitchen appliances make it easy to cook and stay in, or even BBQ outside. Relax inside the charming cottage or outside in the garden and feel like you are in another time. Can sleep up to 4, with one bedroom (queen bed) and sofa bed in living room. ~$90 per night.

Lake Forest Beach

Private beach along the shores of Lake Michigan with beautiful ravines, sandy beach and walking trails. 


Elawa Farm

Community prairie with fields of wildflowers, tall grasses and miles of walking trails. A small community run organic farm greets you at the entrance with a farmer's market on Friday and Saturday mornings. Also, there is a rescue zoo on site for reptiles and birds of prey free to the public (donations optional) ... at 1401 Middlefork Drive in Lake Forest.

Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve

If the bustle and buzz of everyday life are becoming a tad overwhelming, consider checking out Fort Sheridan Preserve. With over 250 acres (101.2 hectares) of rolling terrain, with many mature trees, picturesque ravines, and bluffs, it’s positioned right on the Lake Michigan shoreline. It’s an especially great place to visit for those interested in birdwatching and the lake offers many wildlife encounters, as it’s home to many rare species.
A total of 4.5 miles (7.2 km) of trails are available for hiking, 3.7 miles (6 km) for cross-country skiing, and 1.3 miles (2.1 km) for biking. Fort Sheridan originally served as an Army base from 1887 until 1993, which leaves a remarkable history behind it and it gives anyone an opportunity to learn more about rare species, the great outdoors, and American history.
