Stories
From the day we met
to a promise made
and stay together
despite the distance
exploring the world
with our curiosity
diving under the sea
or flying in the air
or under the stars
to travel the world
side by side
and break borders
we were far
now we come home
to the promise
we said "yes" to

Notes

What is a Despedida de Soltera?

The Despedida de Soltera is a Filipino marriage custom similar to a bachelorette party, but with a strong emphasis on the family unit.

Ritually it represents a showing of consent from the bride's family and a celebration of their blessing over the marriage.

Additionally, it is literally a "goodbye to spinsterhood." As the bride prepares for her upcoming wedding, the family celebrates her through a large gathering. The groom’s family, close relatives, the wedding party, and friends of the bride and groom are all invited to take part.

Not only does the Despedida de Soltera serve as a family’s honoring of the bride-to-be, but it also often serves as an opportunity for the bride and groom's families to meet for the first time. It is considered quite necessary for this meeting to happen before the wedding, so even if the parents have met, the party is a good opportunity for all of the family members from both clans to get to know one another in a celebratory setting.

It has been known that Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal bestows grace and abundance to all the faithful disciples. Join us for her enthronement ceremony and outreach program at the heart of the ATI Community in Boracay.

Travel Notes

THE ATI VILLAGE

BORACAY ISLAND was originally inhabited by the “ATIS” or the “ABORIGINES”. ATIS are physically short in size, dark brown skinned and curly hair resembling the natives of the AFRICAS as well. They were the first inhabitant of the Island that is being considered and voted as the WORLD’S FAMOUS ISLAND DESTINATION today.

ATI’s are highlands dwelling people of the Province of Aklan feeding on the availability of food sources that is naturally bountiful in the island before. They feed on fish, wild animals, coconuts, and other fruit bearing trees within.

The vast development of Boracay has driven the authority to specify areas in the island that will only be specific to the natives as their dwelling place, A community where they can call their own lands. The effort has been successful in the leadership of Malay Municipal Government and the NCIP (National Commission for Indigenous People) and other private companies and NGO’s (Non Government Organization) as project partners.

Milecolm Nerona
Milecolm Nerona

Emina Marie A. Sotto
Groom's sister/Junior Bridesmaid
Emina our little firecraker all grown up and now a junior bridesmaid to her big brother. This little fire ball knows what she wants and gets the job done. Watch out, her personality is bigger and taller that she is but not to the point of it being out of control. Earl loves his little Shola and insisted she be Senior Flower Girl but she refused. She will always be the baby sister in Earl's eyes.
Pearl June S. Bocol
Pearl June S. Bocol
Best Friend / Bridesmaid
The girl with the British accent. Pearl was one of K-Anne's first friend in Canada. Her first call for usual eat outs, daily updates, random sleepovers, and the person who will never miss a single special occasion for the world. Only a true friend will take a 12hour flight just for an 8 hour event and then fly back home. She is more than just a friend and calling her the BEST friend is still an understatement. She is family to the Gurays.
Karen Elaine T. Viernes
Karen Elaine T. Viernes
Best Friend / Bridesmaid
Karen and K-Anne go all the way back to their Assumption days from being busmates, batchmates, and classmates all the way from preschool till high school, then schoolmates again in College in Canada.
Kayla Joanne A. Tongos
Kayla Joanne A. Tongos
Best Friend / Bridesmaid
The life of the party. Kayla will not only say yes to any new adventure, but also will make it one worth while. She usually is the loud conscience that lingers and will never go away. Kayla is the most loyal friend one can ever know. Through thick and thin... and right and wrong, she will definitely be on K-Anne's side... always.
Rica Theresa B. Briones
Rica Theresa B. Briones

K-Anne's confidante, her shoulder to cry on, and food date. This girl never backs off a fight and will be more than willing to lead an army to fight your battles for you... Front and centre!
Janelle Rosita C. Ablang
Janelle Rosita C. Ablang
Best Friend / Bridesmaid
Janelle is K-Anne's partner in crime in good times, not so good times... especially in concerts, YFC/SFC, special events, and most especially SNOWBOARDING... but for sure the list will continue to grow and you can count that Janelle will be there... as always.
Kristina Angela (Tin) G. Cruz
Kristina Angela (Tin) G. Cruz
Cousin / Bridesmaid
Tin is the unofficial older sister K-Anne looked up to while growing up. Her biggest influence to her taste in music, video games she plays, sports, shows she watches... you name it!
Groomsmen
Rafael Romualdo R. Ricalde
Rafael Romualdo R. Ricalde
Best Man
If Earl was born with a brother this guy would be him. They've been through everything together. Nothing says "In good times and in bad times" like the friendship these two share.
Mara Abigail Mariano
Mara Abigail Mariano
Groomslady
There is no other person who would earn the title "groomslady" but Abby. She's Earl's wing-woman. With her bubbly, nerdy, energetic personality she brightens up everyone's day.
Mikhail Pierre-Angelo Bernardino
Mikhail Pierre-Angelo Bernardino
Groomsman / Cousin
From childhood toys to big boy toys these two are inseparable. "Cousin" was just another word for brother. Earl and Gelo would constantly compete with their witty antics.
Mariano Luis M. Que
Mariano Luis M. Que
Friend / Groomsman
This guy! Earl and Yano have built a bond through the years in college and beyond. They are two peas in a pod in all their wacky ideas, theories about life, and overall wittiness. When ever Earl wants to share an existential idea, Yano is always on speed dial with a bottle of scotch.
Carlo S. Santos
Carlo S. Santos
Cousin / Groomsman
Earl and Carlo, just had the chance to spend a lot of time only recently however it was clear that he was the big brother / cousin that he wished he had. Whether it be a late game of league of legends, a night of drunk monopoly, or a straight talk about the future. He's simply "kuya".
Earl Edward Cruz
Earl Edward Cruz
Friend / Groomsman
It was strange growing up with a friend with the exact name as you in the group. However Earl and Earl have been supportive of each other - Earl even insisted on moving to UA&P so that Earl could pursue his Medical studies as the Dr. Earl of the group. Kidding aside, Earl has and will always be the loyal dependable friend that Earl is lucky to have.
Andrew A. Tan
Andrew A. Tan
Friend / Groomsman
Earl and Droo met at the weirdest of places. They were in the 7th grade when Earl decided to take choir and met Droo. Ever since then they were part of a group that shared the same common interests. No not choir! But games, music, and movies.
Charles Erwin E. Lim
Charles Erwin E. Lim
Friend / Groomsman
Chazzy Dazzy, the bro and the guy who you could depend on. Him and Earl have shared a lot of laughs through college because of their wacky antics. However little do anyone know that Chaz, was the biggest supporter of K-anne when Earl and her were dating. Chaz was the guy who said go for it. So I guess we could all be thankful that Chaz was there or none of this would be possible.
Rodney Robinson U. Uy
Rodney Robinson U. Uy
Friend / Groomsman
Rodney and Earl's relationship has always been big brother little brother where the roles switch once in a while. Rodney would be the guy that Earl would open up to. Even though he left the country (to Cebu) these two have kept in close contact with their "shampoo bottle" phone calls.
Lawrence Amiel G. Santiago
Lawrence Amiel G. Santiago
Bride's Cousin/Junior Groomsman
Enz is one of K-Anne's youngest cousins who just like K-Anne and several of the younger Guray cousins, took after their older role model cousins. Similarly, he also plays several instruments, including the guitar, bass, keyboard and drums, and not to forget - he sings and serves at the church. Music and service to God, two of the most important things K-Anne can never live without.
