To Our Future: A Big Dickson Wedding

Brooke has always had a knack for entertainment! Be it throwing themed parties, or wearing the craziest outfits for high-school spirit days, she is always a colorful presence. Her thriving passion lead her to Cal State Northridge where she would be close to all of the major TV studios. Brooke would meet Brandon in a Directing class at CSUN where everyone had to be apart of each other’s projects. Brandon was auditioning his classmates to recreate a scene from ‘Back To The Future’ to which Brooke auditioned and did not get the part. Later in their college years they continued to support each other which brought them together - and since then have only grown closer.

Brandon James Dickson

Brandon’s love for the movies started at the age of 7 while on a family trip to Universal Studios! This ignited his passion and later brought him to Cal State Northridge where he studied Television. In the last 2 years of attending CSUN, Brandon took some classes and worked on projects with Brooke. His senior year, Brandon would be asked to help out on a pre-thesis project ‘Victor the Vampire’. It was this project that brought them together through many editing software crashes, late nights studying, and eventually pitching a thesis project “CockTales”. Since then they have continued to be the power couple of the industry... or so they think!

Casey Brock Noska

Brother

When Casey was a toddler, Brooke (as the big sis and favorite babysitter) would supply a fresh sippy cup of juice and watch PB&J Otter, Blues Clues, or Rollie Polly Olly with him after his naps. It was their connection through those shows that would inspire Brooke to get into TV production and help create stories that families could watch together. Brooke and Casey still share this bond - although, the shows have changed as have their choice in beverages! A classic Noska tale is when Casey, Brooke, and Tyson went paint balling and Casey got ‘mysteriously’ shot in the ass and cried. It wasn’t until 5 years after that Brooke would finally own up and take the blame!

Tyson John Henry Noska

Brother

Tyson - best known in his younger years as ‘Spike’, ‘TJ’, or #61 - is Brooke’s fearless big little brother. Tyson & Brooke have many fond memories growing up together since they are close in age. They’ve experienced, sequin outfits for dance recitals, multiple co-ed sports teams, and may have gotten in their first bike crash with each other! The best home video is from 1999 when the Noska family was on a 6 week road trip and Tyson handcuffed himself to the backseat of the car while Brooke, allegedly, lost the keys. 15 years later, karma was paid back when Tyson helped Brooke & Brandon move but they locked their uhaul and had to enlist help from the local fire dept.!

Jeffrey Alan Dickson

Brother

As child stars [not really, but they have some pretty convincing headshots] Jeff & Brandon would sometimes get stopped because of Jeff’s resemblance to ‘Stuart Little’s’ Jonathan Lipnicki! They were no stranger to the spotlight as they also played a mean air guitar with the band “The Playbacks” at the Westlake Promenade. Growing up they would always look forward to going to Universal Studios together which Brandon attributes his passion for film production. Jeff and Brandon shared a love for cars and their first mustang, which inspired Jeff’s career in the automotive industry. This especially came in handy when Brandon would occasionally find a rouge curb, or two...

Andrew Alexander Dickson

Brandon’s earliest memory of Andy is at Andy & Jody’s wedding in Yosemite where baby Brandon was exploring under the tables and Jeff could be found hurling in the back of the family Lincoln. The best babysitting trips were when Andy would take his brothers to see the LA Kings! Andy’s hobbies are limitless, but “The Little Print Co.” is one that has stuck out the most to Brandon representing Andy’s true talent for ingenuity and originality. As adults, Brandon and Andy share an interest in Bourbon, BBQ, and recently ‘Yacht Rock’! Brandon is inspired by Andy’s quick witted humor but also the true sincerity when it comes to the love of his two younger brothers.

Brooke & Brandon had Prof. Quinn as one of their CSUN teachers. He guided them through their senior thesis from script to screen. No one really knew Brooke & Brandon were ‘official’ until they attended a wedding in Indiana (their first trip) but had to conference into a group meeting — to which Quinn asked “Why are you guys there... together??..!”.
Brooke responded, “He’s my producer, I couldn’t leave him behind....?” The cat was out of the bag and when they returned to class it was obvious why they were inseparable. Quinn has been in their lives and careers since college. For him to kick off their future together felt like the perfect way to begin the next chapter!

Colin Conrad

Longtime friend of Bruce. Bruce and I grew up together going to the same daycare, obedience school, and then ,as adults, briefly roomed together in Los Angeles while we were struggling actors until he moved in with Brooke and Brandon. That is how I met the happy couple. When I was asked by Bruce to MC the wedding of Brooke & Brandon, I was hesitant. I didn’t know why, because I barely knew them, and I didn’t want to step on any paws because I knew Bruce was hoping he’d get the gig. But once I learned he booked the role of Ring “Bear” I felt comfortable accepting this job and honoring my friend’s wishes for his new roommates. I look forward to getting to know them before their August nuptials.

Michelle Huyhn

In the same CSUN class that Brooke was first introduced to Brandon, she met her future partner in crime! Michelle and Brooke share an addiction for excellence and the sharpest eye for detail without losing a passion for fun. As they went through college they would feed off of each others 'bad ideas' for their projects, which sometimes turned genius. One of those being their pre-thesis bake sale for 'Victor the Vampire'. They bought baked goods from Costco and sold them on campus... although they didn't realize they would be right across from the American Diabetes Association... They raised enough funds to make the project, but due to the (at that time) Costco return policy, they also got all their money back for returning exactly HALF of what was purchased.

Sean Greene

From high-school band to midnight movie premieres, Brandon and Sean have shared many memories and photos of Sean’s cat, Simon, through the years! Sean met Brooke at her college house when Brandon picked him up from the airport after returning from Vietnam and told him booze filled hot chocolate awaited him there. Sean was the first friend Brandon introduced to Brooke. Since then the 3 of them have celebrated many birthdays, career promotions, and have survived the annual ‘Crown & Christmas’ together.

Sam Mayper

Brooke was away working at Disneyland when Sam was hired at SFDK (aka Marine World Africa USA). Once back from her SoCal adventure, Brooke came back to Six Flags to be greeted by the 90’s music aficionado and overall Mountain Dew addicted AV tech badass. Sam has sat through quite a few show announcer flubs and one extremely ‘exciting’ Jr. College graduation, in honor of Brooke. Quickly Sam and Brooke developed a one of a kind friendship that lead to Sam sharing her secret chili dip recipe and the most important and elite visit to a jewelry store to pick out Sam’s, soon to be Fiancé’s, engagement ring. Once engaged Sam and Kerri asked Brooke to be in their wedding which turned out to be Brandon and Brooke’s first trip together as an ‘official couple’. Ever since Sam has been consistently asking, like so many, when would Brooke and Brandon settle down and tie the knot!?! Well… well… well…!!!!

Brent White

When Brent moved to Thousand Oaks, he and Brandon became quick friends over their love for video games and gigantic Costco pretzels. They have such a strong friendship that even the cops couldn’t separate them! When Brent and Brandon were in high-school, they made ‘funny’ videos, one in particular with air-soft guns that led to Brandon’s mom picking them up from the back of a police car. Brent met Brooke when her and Brandon were invited to his family’s house for a spaghetti dinner. Later Brent brought his now wife, Ariel, to an escape room where they once again got in trouble for accidentally calling 911 on what they all thought was a prop for the game!

Megan Montoya

Growing up with two younger brothers, Brooke was ECSTATIC to have a 'BIG sister' when she got to college! Megan and Brooke locked ‘broken arms’ on the greek athletics football field at CSUN and the rest is history! Megan and Brooke are probably the most prone to injury humans on the planet, and were usually found with a variety of ice packs and Advil when they were roommates in the AST sorority house. One winter holiday break Brooke told Megan that Brandon was coming over to help with some school work. She knew that Brooke was nervous to have him over so she said 'let's get him drunk?'! Thus the boozey hot chocolate they shared with Brandon and Sean!

Les ‘Buddy’ Kovecs

Buddy and Brandon became close buds in college. Their nerd-ness for tech and gear sparked many ‘great ideas’. Brandon spent the summer of 2013 with Buddy hanging out, waxing his mustang, and tinkering about with expensive toys as Buddy prepped for his senior thesis. Buddy’s thesis is where Brooke met him and his crew for ‘Rotten In Denmark’. After they all graduated from CSUN, Brooke and Brandon helped him and his soon to be wife, Sam, move up to Davis. One of the most memorable spontaneous road trips Brandon’ and Buddy did, was a 48 hour tour from Santa Clarita to Berkeley, back to LA, with a “short” detour through Yosemite... Ever since, Buddy has been a treasure of knowledge overall supportive dude.

Samantha Hernandez

Brooke & Sam have kept each other sane through their short but mighty VFX partnership. An unlikely duo turned industry super stars, Brooke and Sam have conquered insane blood - guts & gore, space battles, insanely long work shifts, and countless bottles of tequila in the name of Visual Effects. Although most of their friendship has had the title of ‘Client vs Vendor’ - Brooke and Sam break the barriers of calibration, support, and female boss lady empowerment!! Outside of the office atmosphere, Sam has been a consistent support while Brooke and Brandon have been “long distance” always offering a place to stay or a friend to grab a smoothie or a walk with. While working at FuseFX together, Sam even offered to make sure that Bruce the pup was taking bathroom breaks while Brooke was busy in back to back meetings. Bruce decided that was the perfect time to leave a few ‘chocolate kisses’ outside and then jump into auntie Sam’s lap and take a nap. Later on Sam found some ‘chocolate’ on her arm….. alas it was NOT Hershey’s!!

Danny Viveros

Danny - AKA ‘Creepy Uncle’ to Bruce Wayne Jr., has survived Bad Girls Club, Born This Way, and at least one day on ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ with Brandon while they worked at Bunium - Murray! Through most of their friendship, Danny and Brandon have spent a lot of time inside of ‘Yolanda’, A large black SUV they called home. Brooke first met Danny when he offered to help her and Brandon move across the valley. Needless to say, that was the last time they asked their friends to help them move in LA.

We began The Flux Capacitors in mid-2013 with the intention of being the absolute best '80s flashback band we could be. And to add a bit of fun to the mix, we decided to dress up as characters from the BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy - a decision that altered the course of our timeline - BIGTIME...

Shortly after our first live show we were pulled into the Back To The Future community by the cast and crew! After a while we were cast in the 30th anniversary documentary BACK IN TIME (available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc...) - and became the official band of WE'RE GOING BACK 2015 - the largest Back To The Future fan celebration in the world!!!
