How We Met
Our story began as any other modern day fairytale - online. We connected, but didn't start a conversation, because anyone who knows Deepika well, knows that she needed a true "meant to be" sign. Luckily, just a little while later, fate decided to step in and give Bharat and Deepika the first push. Completely by coincidence, Bharat's and Deepika's moms happened to randomly meet & connect. When Deepika found out that Bharat was the same guy she had connected with earlier, she knew that she couldn't let the opportunity go. She decided to start a conversation, to Bharat's delight, and Bharat asked to meet shortly after. And of course, as they say, the rest is history. A perfect, meant to be, modern day fairytale.
The Proposal
They say when you know, you know. Just around a year and a half after Deepika & Bharat first met, Bharat asked Deepika the best question ever, with a perfectly planned proposal. Deepika's family pretended they were attending a fancy event at a beautiful estate in the hills of Northern California - they even made a fake invitation. So, unsuspectingly, Deepika's sister helped her to shop for a perfect outfit, get her nails done and made sure she was dressed for the occasion. When she arrived, Bharat was standing at the entrance to a brick house with all Bharat's and Deepika's closest friends and family hiding inside. It was more magical than Deepika could have ever imagined her proposal to be.
