BUSY BUSY WEEKEND IN THE DRIFTLESS

The Driftless region will be a very popular area to be in during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. On top of it being a holiday weekend. It also is graduation weekend for many of the schools, the start of destination trout fishing season, and other weddings. We do have some places reserved. However many of these come with a two night minimum reservation. We hope to provide as many options as possible to accommodate your lodging needs. We hope you can find just what you need to be comfortable.

Viroqua is about 25 minutes from Norskedalen and approximately 30 minutes from La Crosse. Karen and I would love for you all to be nearby to where we will be in Viroqua, yet rooms will be a popular item. Therefore it may be necessary to stay in La Crosse (the closest city), or a neighboring town like Wesbty. If you’re feeling rugged, camping may also be an option for you. Will post a couple options for that as well.

We will post options as they become available. Yet it may require some searching on your part. Apologies in advance. We hope you can find a place that suits your needs. Also check back soon for more options and updates.

Also www.airbnb.com and https://www.vrbo.com may have the perfect place for your stay.

A nice, historic B&B in Westby. Check for availability. Two night minimum.

It’s dated, yet it has a supper club and good ole brandy old fashioned’s no doubt. Check for availability. Unsure if there is a two night minimum.

Hickory Hill Motel Viroqua

Check for availability. Requires a two night minimum.

The Charmant Hotel La Crosse

We definitely recommend. A little pricier, yet so very charming. Check for availability.

Dining

Driftless Cafe

You may have seen or read articles about Chef Zahm and Ruthie declaring the Driftless Cafe one of the best restaurants in the Midwest and it has gathered Viroqua quite the attention for it’s farm to table approach and out of this world deliciousness. We are so proud and fortunate to have them doing so much good not only in Viroqua, but for farmers throughout the state. Reservations recommended. Driftless Cafe Facebook page is also a good resource in addition to the link.

Rooted Spoon

We cannot wait and are so proud to have Chef Dani Lind, owner of the Rooted Spoon be catering for our wedding on the 26th! Yet on Friday the 25th they have tacos and fancy looking drinks. Always incredible and delicious!! Again we are so lucky to have such amazing food options.
