Who would have guessed that a Facebook friend request followed by a message sent from a random guy to a random girl would lead us to where we are now. That one message between strangers transformed into an amazing love story filled with travels, family gatherings and concerts just to name a few. It also brought together two amazing families that we get to include in our adventures. Our love story continues to this day and will only become stronger in front of of family and loved ones on our special day. Some would say our story is a tale as old as time....
The plan was to propose in Disney, as most of you know this did happen, and it was a magical experience as it was done in front of the castle for all to see on Main Street. However there was a little more to the story that you guys do not know!
The plan began the day I went to buy the engagement ring. I reached out to Danielle’s mom to ask if we might be able to go to Magic Kingdom one day while we were in town for her birthday. When I told her it was to propose to her daughter in front of the Castle the answer was an immediate YES.
So begins the part of the story you do not know, this proposal almost never happened....
Getting ready to start our trip down to Florida it started like all the others, waiting at the airport. When we finally boarded the plane (ring in my carryon), we start to back away from the gate and prepare for take off. Our plane reached the runway, started to gain speed and as fast as it got to top speed the brakes hit and the plane came to an abrupt slow down. We were told engine issues was to blame, so we were taken off the plane and told to go back to the gate. After hours of waiting for a new plane and a flight crew, we finally took off and landed safely in Florida the next day.The big day came and we were ready to go to the Magic Kingdom. Joanne and I compiled a plan to stand us in front of the castle, ask the camera person there to take a family pic but to keep the camera on us as after the pic to capture the proposal in action. The rest is history as was the proposal went on without a hitch and here we are. A few of those pictures taken can be seen above. We were supposed to have it on video but that got lost in translation, and well , no video was taken lol. No fault of anyone just a funny part of this story. After the proposal, we all enjoyed an amazing day in the Magic Kingdom.
