Despite growing up near each other in Miami and even having several mutual friends, Daniela and Manny didn’t cross paths until September 2012 – during a tailgate at the University of Florida (Go Gators!). Like a true millennial, Manny saw a picture of Daniela on Instagram and immediately recruited a friend to create a plan to “coincidentally” bump into each other the next day. His plan worked and the two hit it off right away. A few days later, they met up at a party…but what started as a great evening chatting and making jokes did not end up as expected. While leaving the party, Daniela tripped and fell head-first into a bush, cutting her knees on a sidewalk. Manny pulled her out, walked her home, and cleaned and bandaged her knees. Although Daniela was convinced she’d never hear from him again, Manny called and invited her to dinner the next day…The next 8 years were filled with endless laughs, memories with their families and friends, traveling the world, two Italian Greyhounds, and their first home together!
