Where to stay

October is a very busy time for beachside holidays in Australia, so we recommend making arrangements as soon as possible.

We recommend people stay on the Gold Coast, a coastal city in the state of Queensland, Australia known for its beautiful white sand beaches, surfing, and rainforest hinterland.

Specifically, we are recommending two beach towns:

1. Burleigh Heads: a popular beach town with a lively cafe and dining scene and a great range of beachside serviced apartments and homes (think no frills pretty beach town). This town will be our home base.

2. Broadbeach: a bustling beach town 10 mins north of Burleigh Heads by car with higher-end choices for accommodation (think Miami).
There are many towns close by, if you are unsure where to book, just reach out to us!

We will be providing a return coach service to and from the wedding from Burleigh Heads and Broadbeach.

Accomodation

There is a range of accommodation options from hotels, to homes, and self-serviced apartments (which is a very common and popular choice in Australia).

Booking.com, Airbnb, VRBO and stayz.com.au are great places to check out accommodation options. Please read cancellation policies carefully.

Some recommendations:

1. Boardwalk Burleigh Beach:

- book on booking.com

- book on airbnb.com

- book on the official Boardwalk website (not refundable)

2. Ambience on Burleigh Beach

3. The Star & The Darling in Broadbeach

The Gold Coast Airport is a domestic airport only and is very close to the recommended accommodation (~15 min drive).

When should I get to the Gold Coast?

We recommend getting to the Gold Coast Friday 20 October 2023  to attend the Welcome Reception to meet all of our friends and family attending the wedding.

What will the weather be like?

October is Spring in Australia - the best time to visit the Gold Coast.  The weather will be warm during the day and will cool down in the evening (may require a light layer).

Are kids welcome?

The wedding ceremony and reception will be for adults only. The Welcome Reception (day before the wedding) and Recovery Lunch (day after the wedding) are child-friendly events.

If you are traveling with children and need babysitting services, we recommend:  https://coastalbabysitters.com.au/

Can I drive to the wedding?

We do not recommend that you drive to the wedding as car parking availability is not guaranteed at the venue.  We have arranged coaches to pick up and drop off guests to and from the wedding venue.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors and the reception will be indoors.
