If you are traveling in for our wedding, we strongly recommend renting a car for your stay. While we will be providing transportation for guests staying at The Griswold Inn and The Homestead Inn on the day of the wedding, a rental car will allow you to get around for your entire stay and enjoy all the Connecticut shoreline has to offer.

Please note that traffic out of New York City in the summer can create serious delays, so plan accordingly!

If you are traveling via plane the best airports to arrive at are included below.

New York City: JFK, LaGuardia or Newark

- All roughly 2 hours from The Griswold Inn/ The Homestead Inn

Connecticut: Bradley International Airport

- Roughly 1 hour from The Griswold Inn/ The Homestead Inn

If you are traveling via train, Metro North and Amtrak trains both arrive at Union Station in New Haven, CT.

If you are not renting a car, there are often Ubers, Lyfts and and taxis right outside the station.

To kick off the wedding weekend right (and keep the party going), we've reserved the entire Griswold Inn in Essex for our guests to stay at a discounted rate. The Bride, Groom and wedding party will be staying here for the duration of the weekend. There's a fabulous restaurant and wine bar on site, so we hope you'll take advantage and make this your home for the weekend too!

We've also reserved the Homestead Inn for our guests to stay at a discounted rate. This lovely Connecticut Inn is located in Madison, just a 15-minute drive from the Griswold Inn, and has 10 rooms to accommodate guests.

The Beach Tree Cottages are another lovely accommodation for guests. These adorable shoreline cottages are perfect for families with young children, and are just a 15-minute drive from the Griswold Inn.
