CJ first caught Don's attention while dancing at "The Patio Lounge" in Atlanta, GA. As a fellow Chicagoan Don recognized CJ was "Chicago Steppin" and couldn't resist asking for her hand. It was an instant connection on the dance floor, they didn't discover how much more they would connect until later.
I was actually leaving to go home when I saw her and recognized she was "steppin", I knew I had to stay even if only for one dance. - Don
CJ and Don's first official date was a comedy show at Uptown Comedy Club, where they enjoyed laughing the night away. They say laughter is good for the soul!
The night was so special for me! It was months after my mom passed and I hadn't remembered the last time I had laughed so hard with someone. - CJ
CJ and Don both love repping their hometown Chicago at every chance. They've discovered the commonality brings them together in a way they never expected. With similar backgrounds and life experiences, there's a shared love for Chicago culture, history, food and music! They have an unspoken understanding that allows them to have a deeper connection.....even though CJ is from the Southside and Don is from the Westside :)
CJ and Don love to travel and have been to many places in and outside of the US. Because of their love for travel, they have decided to have a destination wedding in New Orleans, LA. Their goal is to share their wedding day with their family and friends while combining travel with good food, good music and amazing life memories!
