Arrival & Transport

Before you book your flight, please check your visa requirements to make sure you have a valid visa if needed and that your passport is valid for more than 6 months on expiry when you travel.

Before arriving to Bali, we recommend checking with your accommodation if they include an airport pick-up service or if it can be arranged additionally. It may cost slightly more than a taxi, but it'll be well worth it and less stressful than dealing with the swarms of taxi drivers at the airport.

If you've chosen to go the taxi route, no problem! Please make sure you ask for an approximate price to your accommodation before getting in the taxi, and double check they turn the meter on when you get in the car. If the meter is 'broken' (sus), confirm the price you'll pay before Mr Taxi starts driving.

For getting around Bali, we recommend using Grab or Go-jek - just make sure you have internet on your phone as they are internet-based apps. You can get a local SIM card at the airport upon arrival.

Accommodation

There are many beautiful private villas and apartments on Airbnb in each of the areas we have noted below, we highly suggest looking into these individual options. Otherwise, Booking.com or Hotels.com all work well for finding something you like.

Areas:

CANGGU/BATU BOLONG - Canggu is a popular destination and has everything you want - culture, great surf breaks, delicious food (actual good vegan/vegetarian options), good coffee, plenty of spas, fitness and yoga options, beach clubs - all side-by-side with rice paddies and a local village feel. We especially love the relaxed and laid-back vibe of Canggu. If it's your first time visiting Bali, Canggu is an ideal base for you to explore some of Bali's most famous attractions as well.

BERAWA - Still part of Canggu but another popular area in the suburb split by the 'shortcut'. There are honestly endless amount of cafes, restaurants, beach clubs and shops here so you have plenty of options.

SESEH - Seseh is where the wedding venue situated and definitely a quieter location. It's a tranquil village and ideal for undisturbed rest and rehabilitation. Around the COMO Uma Hotel there are more accommodation options and still not far to the wedding venue and the main Canggu hub.

PERERENAN - Pererenan is located North of Canggu, adjoining Seseh. The area is distinguished by rolling green rice fields and a long beach of dark sand that owes its distinct color to the island's volcanic activity. It's the next hotspot in Bali that offers a serene escape from bustling tourist areas.

SEMINYAK - Slightly more upmarket and known for its luxurious resorts, high-end restaurants, and fashionable boutiques. Still a great area to base yourself in if you plan to travel around the island of Bali.

KUTA - Just don't.
